Should everybody be automatically considered an organ donors?
    #16288822 -

What would you guys think of this?

The patient waiting list is miles long, people die because we can't find the organs that would otherwise save their lives.

Then we turn around a look at the enormous amount of people that die everyday and get buried with healthy organs.

Of course there would be a few rules, for example, people who have a health problem wouldn't qualify, etc. Not every organ can do the job.

Should we all be organ donors even if we didn't the consent form? Do we really have to give permission to save someone's life? After all, we don't care anymore, we're dead.
Should everybody, with a clean bill of health, automatically be an organ donor?

Too many fundies in this country to agree to a universal "cut me open and take my innards" law.

But yes, I agree, and am an organ donor.  Pretty soon though we'll be able to grow spare organs in a lab using a person's DNA.

i'm an organ donor...

i strongly disagree with people who aren't because they have mortality issues or don't want their privacy invaded as a cadaver.

i don't know that you can make it mandatory though...how about offer incentives like a big tax credit or free cigarrettes for all listed organ donors.

  Yeah lets give all the organ donors cancer.

But an incentive wouldn't hurt, how bout to take advantage of a universal healthcare system you're required to be a donor?

FUCK NO!!!!!

I want every piece of my body accounted for. Much like the ancient Egyptians believed that they need to be whole to enter the afterlife I also want to have my organs removed and preserved in jars next to the sarcophagus in which my mummified body lies. Only after thousands of years will I be willing to donate my organs to science, and that's only if they go on display at the British Museum next to King Tuts liver.

in high school, it was brought to my attention that there's some deal where you can agree that after you die, your body can be sold to a med school and they would give you like 7,000 dollars in advance for the contract for your cadaver.

I was all about it but could never find any more information.

dont blame shit on the religious just because it's easy, if someone doesnt
want to be a donor they shouldnt have to be. I'm a donor and because of it
I try and maintain a relatively healthy lifestyle

I'm a donor but IDK what kind of condition my organs are in. If they are still useable by the time I die and not tainted by all the shit I have ingested over the years, then someone should get them to get a second chance at life.

It's not like you can take them with you when you die you guys...

Do you guys want to know how much your cadaver is worth?

Here's a website that calculates it using variable I don't know about and gives you an end result I cannot explain.

Have fun http://www.cadaverforsale.com/

fuck that. i like to have the option of not having my organs harvested.

plus, when you're an organ donor and somebody needs an organ, they might just let you die on the table to use yours :Awesketch:

that being said,  i am one.

but that's ok cause most of my organs will be useless by the time i die.

eyes? fuck no my vision is horrible.

liver? hahah

kidney? working on it :rail2:

Since im not in that position I cant say anything .
But from what I heard if you have organ donor on you I.D , if you not important they will let you die in the hospital and use your organs anyway .
Since I've heard that I told the DMV to take organ donor off my license and I.D ( because I have a DUI and Gotta wait 1 more month to get my license back )

That is not at all true. Google "organ donor myths." There is so much misinformation that can be eliminated by a simple google search.
