to the guy that recommended an ibanez, i have no knowledge of their acoustics but they are one of my pet peeve guitar companies (along with BC rich, dean, and jackson) in regards to their electrics. just the thought of those brands brings to mind michael angelo batio wanky ass shred guitar and wannabe wanky ass shred guitarists...plus they're almost all hideous to me

I actually have an Ibanez RG and they rock :thumbup:

It has a super fast wizard neck and jumbo frets that make it perfect to shred on. Also, its pretty comfortable.

I always wonder what it's like to play nice instruments

I have a epiphone SG electric, picked up with an amp and all accessories for $150) and a yamahah acoustic, (about $200), and they suite my needs

I could play ultra fast licks on my Ibanez RG, but for some reason my handcramped up while playing extended periods with it. Never had that problem with fatter necked guitars. Ended up selling it and getting an Agile Les Paul copy.

To be honest, i dont play my RG very much anymore. I stick with my Gibson SG. It is the most comfortable guitar i have ever played. It beats the shit outta my buddies Gibson Les Paul standard because the lester is so damn heavy. The SG is so lightweight. My only complaint is that it is a bit neck heavy.

Im with you there 100%. My chief complaint with LPs is the weight. Sitting down they damn near want to slide out of your lap they are so heavy, and playing while standing up starts killing my back

I want to get one of those ES-339s.
They look like a dream to play but the last i checked they cost $1700.

i have a stratocaster now, I think if I upgrade any time soon it will be to a gibson les paul , preferably a golden/brown sunburst one like the kind Jimmy Page had

50's neck, got it. My mexican stratocaster is sounding good for now though, honestly it's more about your amp and pedals as far as tone goes

Yeah a good amp is a must. I suggest buying a good tube amp before a high end guitar. Nothing sounds more shitty than a high end guitar run through a shitty solid state amp.

I have a takamine cutqaway classical that I bought for $350. It has been a great guitar for many years

Yeah when I get my feet on the ground again I would love to get another Les Paul or SG forsure...and I want a Orange head with a Marshall speaker

i have a marshal 50watt combo but the speaker is blown, has a headphone jack in it :frown:

listen man, if you are good at guitar, stay good at it. get vocal lessons and make some of your own ill acoustic music also.
