I'm aware of all of that...and I'm not the one that did the study...But I am telling you that the study controls for all of the popular theoretical factors...

On top of that, I know a guy who personally spoke with a chick from a top secret government organization...and she told him that abortion was legalized for the SOLE PURPOSE of reducing violent crime.

the study cant control for shit because it doesnt have a second planet with
identical histories only deciding to maintain a ban on abortion. this whole
thing was part of a book called freakanomics, it was written by an economist
and a law professor, it's also been 'debunked' due to statistical errors
and all it really does is try and explain away other factors. Levitt even
admitted the error and of course tried to say the people that discovered
the error were also wrong

BTW, the reptilians wouldnt allow legalized abortion, they're harvesting the
fetuses and growing them in liquid cultures to make them tender, like veal

There are people who disagree with the findings...sure...

For every expert I hire, the prosecution always has one that says the opposite...

But there is in no way a universally accepted "debunking" of the theory in the same way that 9/11 theories have been debunked...You know as well as I do that no statistical causation analysis can ever be positively proven beyond a shadow of a doubt..

I simply said there is strong evidence...and there is very strong evidence...

And, i'm sorry if this is flaming, and I understand if I get banned...but you have to be fucking stupid to think that the reptilians care if they're aborted...They can reanimate the fetuses.  Even a cognitively dissonant sheeple like you should know that.

I dont think this thread has derailed enough

Can I suggest some topics?

  • Legalize gay marriage

  • The moon landing was a hoax

  • The planes that crashed onto the world trade centeres was actually 2 dense flocks of sparrows

  • Tupac is still alive

  • Marijuana: the gateway drug

  • Democracy doesn't work.

  • The earth is flat

  • The Big Bang

What is the point of this argument? No ones opinions will change based on the outcome of this thread.

I believe we were originally meant to gawk and make witty responses to the failed 'fire bombing' in the OP.

also, as for the birth control argument. Sex is a luxury. If you cant afford it, use your hand.

you... BTW, did you know that planned parenthood provides birth control?
yeah, free of charge, out of public funds, so does the health department,
they've all done this for decades... are you still under the impression
that insurance doesnt cover birth control? in 28 state's it's actually a
requirement and most companies see it as an investment because they'd pay
out more to cover a pregnancy and other health problems than they would in
paying for birth control

Um, a person would only pay 20% of their birth control if they had INSURANCE. We've been talking about people who haven't had insurance this whole time.

In 28 states it's a requirement that insurance covers birth control? Show me please. Sounds like some shit Rush Limbaugh would say without substantiating it.

I'm going to ignore sites such as "fair.org," as I'm pretty certain they're completely biased too.

Also, when I said "provide links," I didn't mean provide other sources that say PBS is biased. I mean provide actual PBS articles that YOU PERSONALLY find bias. Especially considering "bias" is a completely relative term and cannot be quantified (the brittanica site suggests PBS is "biased" simply because they interviewed a liberal author than a conservative author, PLEEEEEASE). So please show me ones YOU think are biased.

I can name ONE INSTANCE in which they were biased; and that is whenever PBS is covering the Gaza Strip, they always side with the Palestinians rather than the Israelis.

what defines quality of life?

Access to education, culture, health, food, shelter, and money. You can't deny these things don't contribute to the quality of life.

Quote:
I dont need to think about it, but maybe you should because the way you've
phrased it is that if women can have birth control then more people will be
on welfare, you're also not thinking about the fact that women have access
to birth control but it's up to them to actually obtain and use it. same
with crime, I can be poor and own a gun but that doesnt mean I have to use
it, it doesnt mean I have to become a criminal

And, don't you think more women will use birth control if you make it significantly easier for them to obtain it? Instead of having them drive 8 hours away to the closest Planned Parenthood, if their insurance covers it, or better yet if they simply sold it over the counter, they could simply go to the store and buy it for cheap. If all this was sold over the counter, we wouldn't even need the government paying for it. Medical companies want to make money off it though, that's why they never make this shit easy for us.

so you believe that abortion resulted in the drop in crime rates?

well, let's see

Wow, way to skew the statistics dude. The first graph (if any of these are even legitimate, there's no source from where these came from) only included violent crime between ages FOURTEEN to SEVENTEEN. Murder, and violent crime as a WHOLE has decreased significantly PER CAPITA in the past decades.

Second, you know full well our enormous prison population has fucking nothing to do with violent crime, and more to do with the drug war and you know it. The US imprisons 5 times more than any other country, including China.

Quote:
maybe crime dropped because people were being locked up and mandatory
minimums were being put into place...

Some people argue crime dropped because of 3 strikes, but that didn't happen until the past decade. Also I did some methodological research on 3 strikes for my thesis, and I don't believe it was harsher imposed penalties because the decrease started happening approximately 1 year before 3 strikes was ever implemented.

As I said before...I'm not interested in googling it...only one methodology used the bad numbers and was in error..

You haven't read the study, and I'm not going to manually copy it to this thread...There's no common ground to even start from...

If you aren't interested in reading it...don't...It doesn't matter one way or another to me, but I'm done going back and forth on it when you haven't even taken the time to look at the actual study.

all 50 states have a department of health and human services under some
name or another, every single county in the US has a county health
department funded by both the state and federal government, all f those
health departments by law are required to offer family planning services
part of which includes contraceptives

so tell me again, who is it that doesnt have access? should I continue on
with how many planned parenthood locations there are in the nation? I do it
anyway, There are 850 planned parenthood locations in the U.S. with 40% of
them doing in clinic abortions

now just because it's not required of the insurance companies by the 22
other states doesnt mean insurance companies arent paying for it anyway,
something that was already covered

the problem is that there's no one around to force the to get birth control
and then no one around to make sure they take it, obviously it's not a
necessity since so many people arent on it, in fact about 20% of women of
reproductive age are using some form of contraceptive even though hormonal
birth control pills are available for little or no charge through the
county health department all over the nation leaving 80% of women in that
age group simply not giving enough of a shit, planning to have a kid, not
having sex or using the "that couldnt possibly happen to me" method of
birth control, something easily obtained through the health department for
little to no cost
