While I can understand her concern how she went about it was not very
constructive at all. She would have been much better off to talk to you
first and pass along her fears and concerns in regards to you growing
an illegal drug in a home that she shares with you.

Its not the end of the world tho, many edible and medicinal mushrooms are
legal to grow and just as interesting. I would still convey to your
girl how upset and hurt you are that she would go ahead and destroy
your projects without first talking to you about it.

Either way you are going to be a father soon, man up and walk the straight
and narrow for a while, kids are always better off when their parents are
at home, not locked up for 7 years on non violent drug charges.

You should reach agreement with your significant other about such matters long before thinking of living together.  Not to mention, having a child together.

I would have a hard time dealing with someone pulling something like that.  She is acting more like a parent than a partner.  I would not want to be governed, now that I'm an adult.

It certainly bears talking about, preferably PRIOR to such a destructive act.  Parenting is serious business.  However, you should have been given the choice to come to that conclusion yourself.

Loving partners do not govern one another or make arbitrary rules.  They are attracted to their partner because they already love them, not because they are thinking to make them into someone else.

I would not be able to move past this.  However, I hope you can and wish you peace.

I have not worked with agar yet but am very interested. Thank you my good sir.

Very well said. I'm trying my best to handle this situation very maturely and respectfully.  It is difficult however because it's a new hobby that I really enjoy.  It brings me peace and relieves my stress to be able to grow such a fascinating specimen.  And I am excited about becoming a parent, and would never dare to eat mushrooms with a newborn around. I explained that to her, but she is not compromising with me at all. I am going to buy new stuff today and rebuild. I am a working man, a great person, awesome husband, and am going to be a great father, BUT I will never let someone, especially my significant other, control me.

I am more then willing to get an edible LC syringe in your hand, under
the conditions that you stop growing actives until a later time.

What you are about to do while I understand it, can result in jail time.
It seems that 9 out of 10 people who get burnt do so because of an angry
spouse. Like I said before there are TONS of interesting edibles to grow,
and they will give you the same stress relief without the legal implications.

WAY to many kids growing up these days without a dad/mom, would hate to
see it happen to your child my friend.

That right there is the highest form of disrespect. She does not value your opinion...nay, she doesn't care what you think. It's her way or the highway!!!! I've been married for 13 years and my wife wouldn't dare mess with my stuff that way, nor would I mess with her stuff. That being said, It's not a good idea to have grows around newborns. Talk to your lady about this, hormones aside, she needs to respect you!!!

I agree, but turning around and saying I am going to grow regardless of
what you think is also very disrespectful...seems like a lot of disrespect
on both sides, and not a lot of communication.

I'm not saying go ahead and do it anyways, that would would be disrespectful as hell. You hit the nail on the head..."COMMUNICATION" and boundaries, I think are 2 keys to a good relationship.

I get from the above post that he is planning to go ahead and grow regardless
of what she thinks . Cultivating is fun, interesting and
exciting, but depending upon what you are growing and where you are doing
it can also be HIGHLY illegal.

I have NEVER at anytime cultivated any active species of mushrooms and
yet I am just as addicted and bemushroomed as those who do. Being able
to be open about your hobby due to it being legal is a great weight off
of anyone's shoulders, Plus I get to live vicariously through all the
grow logs and pictures that those who do grow actives post on the Shroomery
and other sites:D.

EM is right. Continuing to hurt each others feelings is only going to make things worse.

You're past your rebellious teen phase and now have a child on the way, man up. compromise.

So yeah, im still in the game, you should do the same.
But bro, im really sorry for those bad news, i really dont know what i would do if she makes me this suddenly!!!
good luck mate!!

Fuck disrespect, have you educated her on this hobby that most likely looks pretty Macguivered? Everyone knows that mushrooms kick out lots of spores and can get in the air, she may have seen some nasty contaminated jars of yours? Maybe she took it upon herself when looking at a jar that could be harbouring black mold and knows that black mold is TERATOGENIC! and there are plenty of other things in those jars, if by chance broken and aloud to spread through the house could cause separate health problems.
You don't know what you are growing in that jar until it is too late and then you have to be careful about how you get rid of it.

Let's face it, women are in most cases just more thoughtful, and I am a guy and have never been pregnant but I have seen it's effects, they are erratic. I really doubt she did this because she thought you shouldn't have the hobby. It is a health and freedom CONCERN. Everyone should get off her case, I don't think she did anything too terrible.

I live and grow with family. They do not partake in such things, but, I have educated them as much as I can, when they see me dunking cakes or loading the PC or what have you, I tell them a little something, show them that it is all basically grow on animal feed/dung. Explain why I use the filters I use and show them the result of growing mushrooms. Full out cleanliness! Growing pot, guh, what a mess, but growing mushrooms is a very neat and tidy hobby. If properly taken care of contaminated jars are no more harm than an open window, but, at the same time I can understand a new mothers concern for something bad to happen. Get back to growing in a year or two. I have a feeling you are about to become rather busy  But, when you do, keep it up high!!! a 2 year old after a lolly pop is a struggle. I could not imagine a gram of fungi

And, as I looked through these two pages I am not sure if I saw this but, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Boy or girl????

I am going to continue growing edibles. I told her that I enjoy this hobby and will not grow psilocybin mushrooms anymore. I just want to keep up with the hobby and grow mushrooms. I don't really care if they have the magic or not (well i do but i wont tell her that). So I am going to be giving up the hobby of growing psilocybin mushrooms for now and move on to edibles and exotic species.

I want to thank everyone for the good vibes and great responses. It has helped me tremendously and I am very grateful. Oh and by the way, it's a baby girl!!

How does your wife know so much haha?

My GF comes out and hunts mushrooms with me, she knows I grow, Since I have 50+ jars everywhere, but she has no idea about how anything works and what exactly actives are and what their purpose is.

I think it had to be two things, either exceptionally open to everyone about your growing, or nobody knows.

As far for the lady problem's, my GF would never ever destroy my things, I think she realize bitch would get kicked to the curb lol just like you, I work a full time job, provide, liver together.  At no point would she find the balls to destroy it lol, but good luck
