A Sad Story for all my Fellow Mycologists!!! * 1
    #15981707 -

So as all of you that have read my posts may know, I just embarked on this new hobby of mushroom cultivation and had very good success on my first grown.  I was about to start my second grow. Had jars incubating that were 70% colonized. Almost birthday time. Well, my 7 month pregnant wife just decided that she don't want me growing mushrooms. So while I was at work (which I still am), she decided to destroy everything. She murdered my babies. I am so upset and heartbroken and don't even know how to respond.

Honestly, if she were not pregnant with your baby, I would recommend walking out on her. Marriage is a fucked up institution forced on us by religious radicals thousands of years ago.  People just go with it now because society "expects" it of them, but there is no other justification for it.  Why gays fight so hard for it, I do not get it. Perhaps they feel they are missing out on the fun divorce part of the marriage.

While I can understand her concern how she went about it was not very
constructive at all. She would have been much better off to talk to you
first and pass along her fears and concerns in regards to you growing
an illegal drug in a home that she shares with you.

Its not the end of the world tho, many edible and medicinal mushrooms are
legal to grow and just as interesting. I would still convey to your
girl how upset and hurt you are that she would go ahead and destroy
your projects without first talking to you about it.

Either way you are going to be a father soon, man up and walk the straight
and narrow for a while, kids are always better off when their parents are
at home, not locked up for 7 years on non violent drug charges.

Start growing some gourmet mushrooms, and then, once you've established a nice grow room full of different varieties, sneak a few psilocybes in there in the midst of the mushroom forest

sounds like your wife can be a real bitch at times (no offense, but that was totally uncalled for.)

If your wife is not cool with you growing anymore due to a baby on the
way, it would be best to respect her wishes. What is more important to
you, growing mushrooms, or your girl and kid? What she did was uncalled
for...and you need to get that across, but I can see where she is coming from.

You are on shroomery at work?  I can tell that you are a dedicated mushroom grower.  It truly is a sad loss.  Shroomery is here for you in your time of need. :hi5: Whenever you're feeling down, just remember my high five.

Thank you guys for all the positive and good vibes. That is what I needed. I knew my friends here at shroomery would understand and be able to guide me. I love magic mushrooms and she won't respect that.  This is a hard situation to deal with.

Are you working with agar at all yet? If so I will be the first to send
you out some edible culture wedges to continue your projects with brother.

Sometimes in life your choices are not always easy, but at least they
are clear.

dude that sucks, I would never let my girl see my op but I'm not married.

many verbal argument's get people busted everyday because of an angry/jelous girl that knows too much.

I would personally play along with her and get something going somehow away from prying eyes.
not a suggestion just what I think I would do.

That's a bummer. But, in reality if she knew about it..... so did every friend that she has ever known her entire life. With a kid on the way it's probably for the best. Your days of hobbies and fun are over.

 Sad but probably true.

On the bright side, those Teletubbies are pretty trippy.  Are kids still watching that?  How about Barney?  I swore I'd never have a kid until that particular purple fucker was a distant memory.

I totally understand, you are probably better off. I'm in the same boat and debating throwing it away my self lol. It's selfish to keep going and risking everything over nothing. Don't be mad at her for wanting to keep you around.

From a female perspective, I can say .. I don't condone her actions, but I can understand it. Sure, it was a dick move on her part to destroy your stuff.. Hell.. who knows, maybe you had a mate that would have been willing to buy all your shit from you. So the stuff gets out of your house and you get some coinage for it. She should have spoken to you about it first.

However, as a parent, lemme say this.. Infants are scary as all fucks! They make weird noises and do strange shit that will keep you on your toes and up all night. You gotta learn the baby babble to figure out what the crap is happening, whether its nappy should be smelling like that, is that a fever or is the kid just hot from screaming at the top of its lungs for the last hour, etc. The last thing you'd want to be doing is trippin balls on shroomadooms with an infant around. Not saying you'd drop while you are in care of the kid, but suppose you are out with your mates munchin on them and something happens at home and your wife is scared out of her wits and rings you up... That'll be one conversation you definitely will not want to have while on shrooms..

So.. take it with a grain of salt.. maybe she's being hormonal, maybe she normally is a control freak.. whatevs. Point is, just ride out the storm and when the kid is older and able to communicate and is out of the "freak the fuck out of the parents" stage, you can start up your hobby again.

Gl to ya
