castenada's best efforts?

the first castenada book i read was "the teachings of don juan", i loved it from start to finish.  i've since bought "the eagles gift" and gave up on it half way through because it failed to entertain or capture my imagination for some reason.
i'm aware that everyone regards his works as fiction but that doesn't bother me.
so have any of you read most of his books?
and can some of you tell me which ones you liked and which ones to avoid?

i am one of those you speak of , i just wasnt going to mention it so as not to make this thread a debate on castenada's character and "knowledge".
i think i will read them in order from now on.
