He didn't know what he was talking about then because there's absolutely no proof of that and they feel nothing alike.

you release DMT when you dream in REM sleep. sleep paralysis is basically when you become conscious during REM but the rest of your body hasn't quite caught up yet. which is why you can't move and why you can occasionally experience very vivid hallucinations when this happens (some DMT is still being released)

actually my psychology professor told me

Then your psychology professor doesn't know what he/she was talking about.  There's no evidence to say that DMT is released during sleep paralysis or death.

"Sleep paralysis is now generally understood to be a dissociated version of the
paralysis that normally accompanies rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep, that is, that phase
of sleep during which many of our most vivid dreams occur..."

"You know, when you sleep, during the time you're in heavy R.E.M. sleep, and right before human death, your brain pumps out heavy doses of dimethyltryptamine. Nobody knows what sleep is all about. Nobody knows why dreaming is important. But dreaming is hugely important. If you don't dream, you'll go fucking crazy and you'll die. While you're dreaming, while you're in heavy R.E.M. sleep, you are going through a psychedelic trip. And very few people know about this. But it's been documented."

So basically,
sleep paralysis = version of REM sleep
REM sleep = release of DMT and vivid dreams

but i'm probably wrong thinking there's a connection between the two

well he is bullet pointing Strassman's theory...and yea it is just a theory so while it may not be fact i don't think anyone would be right in saying it definitely doesn't happen. its pretty hard to prove a theory as complex as this but there is some good research into it

I experience DMT sensations quite often and I haven't touched psychedelics in months, dmt in about 5. The smells, the headspace of a child with the world unfolding it's colors before your eyes etc. I feel like I can tap in to dmt/lsd energy whenever I want/ all the time with awareness. I think it's neat.

I'm actually a distance runner training for a marathon and it's pretty routine every single run to experience visuals so to speak and I smell DmT about once or twice a week
