Stuffs expensive, but it's one of the most well balanced IPA's I've had personally- and it's a like 9%.

I generally prefer pale ales/stouts. Many IPA's I've had seem to focus on just hopping it to shit without really trying to balance pleasant flavors.

IPAs and DIPAs are great, although I do also like a nice stout:cheers:

I.was.wondering when someone would bring up the Double IPA.

They are popular with the homebrew crowd...  Is there a micro brewer who makes doubles?

I don't drink but two or three beers in a year.

There's a big difference stylistically in the IPA category between east coast and west coast breweries. Really they should have their own style. West coast IPA's are super hop bombs and any form of balance coming from the malt would actually be a bad thing wheres an east coast IPA like Dogfish Head 90 minute is well balanced with a full malt profile. I don't really care for balanced IPA's, if I wanted that I would get a Barley Wine.

It's one of the most popular styles in America right now so pretty much every craft brewery makes them but now it's all about the Triple IPA.

Fucking triple... Jesus...  I use to make my own beer, like a mad man, back in the mid 90s before I stopped drinking altogether.  Now once in a blue moon I will drink, and no not that Bluemoon crap either.

I use to work at a Pub here in bakersfield that had over 100 beers from all over the world.  No domestics or light beers.  If someone came in and asked for a light beer, like a Bud Light, we would Jokingly and Politely ask them to leave.  Then we would hand them a sample of Stella Artois and they would love it.  If you had one each of 90 bottles of beer you would get a little plackard on the wall and a Tshirt telling the whole world of your alcoholic adventures.

We carried the good shit too like Delerium Tremmens, all the Youngs and Samuel Smiths beers from England.  Even the odd Gruit beers like Fraoch and Alba Scots Pine Ale.  It was really a good cross sections of international beers.

Triple IPA, I'm just joking here but is that suppose to be like Samuel Adam's Triple Boch?

No it's Triple IPA not Boch. IPA's range from 6-7.5% abv, DIPA's are 7.7-10% and TIPA's are 11%+. You have to be a real beer geek to get to taste a Triple IPA. They're usually not bottled or distributed far from the brewery. The Northern California brewery Russian River brews the best called Pliny the Younger so if you're ever in Sonoma county in early February you should seek it out.

I was only joking.  That Triple Bock, or Boch, was Samuel Adams first attempt at a super high Alcohol content beer.  It tasted more like a chewy Soy Sauce Beer, nothing like what Utopias is today.

It's funny, I use to drink everyday my own beer but gave it all up when I started smoking weed.  Just figured it was a good time to stop drinking so I took up weed.  I use to be very anti-drug when I was younger.

Its funny how I use to be an alcoholic back in the day.  Its even funnier now that I can limit my drinking to just a few beers a year.

Most times I will just be sitting there and I will get a hankering for a Duvel or Golden Drak...

no. We drove by the place where they were serving it and the line was down the block. I was wondering what was going on. Today i was reading the express and they had an article about the younger. Thats why the line was there!  haha.

Soy sauce beer is the worst.  How is it possible?  Why do people allow it to happen?  Is it the product of fermentation gone wrong?
