US Troops going to Africa

So we are sending troops to Africa.

I was told by a very trusted source who is actually being stationed there in the next few months. I was also told why.

Question is, why do you think the US would send troops?

They need logistics bases in the rear for when they attack Iran.  Saudi Arabia and Yemen are unreliable.

he was actually saying that shit over there is getting pretty hot because Africa is open, poor, and has a shitty government.

any said group with the right amount of money could set up shop with no issues.

obviously has something to do with supporting the mostly Christian nation of Kenya against Somalia which is mostly Muslim. At least that's part of it anyways.

I guarantee you the US wants another logistics area to supply the middle east in a war.  they have Diego Garcia in the India ocean, and forward pre-deployed supplies in saudi arabia and Yemen. 
If we can pay some tin-horn dictator in a third-world shit-hole to give us room to move military in, you don't think he is going to take it?


But look at the big picture.  Where's the action?  It's not in africa, its in the middle east.  Africa is comparitively stable, makes a nice place for keeping tons of military shit so it can be moved up in a hurry to the war areas.  And its safe from any military threat there, unlike most other places.

africa is not stable are you kidding yourself? africa hates intrusion even south africa the most western african country has multiple waring factions and dozens of killings each day.. i dont get me wrong it might be logistical but its far from docile there

Africa is a continent. That's like saying US troops are going to Eurasia.

And they've been doing that for some time now anyway, mainly to train militias.

Its not unstable in that US military logistics sites would be under threat from capable, strong anti-us forces.  But I agree, its a thrid-world shithole with all kinds of governmental stablilty problems.

But think of the BIG PICTURE.  The area of concern is the middle east.  Armies don't win by being somewhere and fighting.  they win by having a steady supply of bullets and beans that can't easily be interrupted.

Don't even begin to think the US moves into these other countries are just random entries into shitholes for the sake of it.  there are much bigger motives here.

Is Africa one big field on the Risk board? 

It isn't that irl.  It's divided into these things called regions -- like northern Africa, the Sahara, and the sub-Saharan region -- and these other things called nations. It features democracies and dictatorships, fundamentalist Christian and Muslim nations.  It not just some big grassy field with giraffes and naked black people running around.
