Sorry guys I didn't collect this one, and have nothing more than the pic below and the location. Any ideas? A. Amerirubescens or a Russula sp. maybe?

Hard to say with just that picture. Could be a Russula sp. Was the cap slimy? Kinda resembles Tricholoma muricatum:shrug:

Close to impossible to ID without some close up shots.


Did they have gills or pores? They almost look like Boletes of some sort..

My first guess would be boletus/xerocomus badius. But:
