Photoshop assistance needed

I need to make the girl in this picture into a black girl.
Normally I am perfectly capable of doing so, but I will not have access to photoshop for a while. I've always been there to help you pubbers with photoshop. It would be appreciated.  :peace:

That's a start. Even darker though. You may have to adjust the hue.

if I go darker the colors start becoming distorted and looks really bad
the highlights are just too bright,
if I wanted to spend some actual time on this I could probably do it but I've got other things to do

You should try selecting a couple of color ranges of the skin, then using one of the artistic effects to minimize the number of shades. Like one of the effects that make things more cartoony. That should take care of the distortion when you change the balances more.

Sort of like this except smoother and more accurate colors.

All I did was convert it to 256 colors with mspaint.
But once you do this it should be easy to change the color of the skin.

If someone adjusts the contrast through the edit>levels... I believe it's called.. and you can select between the tone ranges from highlights to shadows and which ones you would like to adjust.

I'm really high  so someone tell me if I'm just stupid but that should solve the problem no? and don't have PS on this computer sorry.

There's more than one way to do it, but one way or another jpeg format distortions will show up when you change the levels too much. So it would help to smooth out those distortions first.

Two things. You should use the select color range option in the "select" menu at the top. The other thing is once you have just the skin selected, you need to do more than just change the darkness. You need to also change the hue to a more realistic skin color.

Pretty good. Anyone care to layer that one with this one and adjust the opacity of the top layer? Then you could probably get the best of both.
