Puscifer's "Conditions of My Parole"

For those of you unfamiliar with Puscifer, it's a project that's the dreamchild of Maynard Keenan - the lead singer for TOOL and A Perfect Circle. 

I've been an avid TOOL (and then APC) fan for a very long time.  I think I've been to fourteen TOOL concerts and 5 APC shows (any show within 4 or 5 hours drive was a must-see), and since TOOL hasn't put out anything in years and APC is (at best) on hold, I've been despairing.  Puscifer, in my mind, was not really something to take seriously.  They had put out a few songs that I really liked, plus another song about Maynard's dick (Cuntry Boner) and other "fun" stuff like that, and a bunch of what had seemed to me to be filler material.

"Conditions of My Parole", the latest Puscifer album, has radically changed how I view Puscifer.  Not only do I now find myself viewing them as a serious and interesting band (that I very much want to see live - there are some great live videos on youtube), but I also feel like I'm getting both my "TOOL" and "A Perfect Circle" "fix" at the same time when I listen to songs like "Horizons", "Tiny Monsters", "Monsoons" ... to put it succinctly, this is a seriously good album.  It is impossibly hard to earn that sort of endorsement from the likes of me, yet I find myself giving it nonetheless.

I'm curious what TOOL fans think of this latest album, as well as APC fans and people who have never heard of any of these bands?  I promise, if your ears are so inclined you will be glad to have listened to any of these links.  Enjoy and please post your opinions!

yeah, that's a bad ass album. i didn't think much of this side project before either, but they hit the mark with this one.

i've been a fan of tool and apc since they've been available in music shops.

You didn't like "V"? I thought some of those songs were very good and original such as "Indigo Children" and "Sour Grapes" among others. But I agree that the new album is quite good.
