The congressional represetative for my district e-mailed me back only to telk me that he does not support the legalization of marijuana or any drugs, how he is completely against it and how hes actually working with local law enforcement to stop the growing and distribution of MJ in his district.
Needless to say I will never vote for this guy but this makes my point that we need to stop accepting people that ate anti drugs from making the laws or staying in power over us.

We all need to do whatever it  takes.

Good point.  I hope the issue is brought to the people to vote on it. We need a national debate.  If the issue was to let the states decide then I think it would pass. How many signatures are needed to get something on the ballot?

if there was some serious money behind legalization movements shit would be changing rather quickly. and by serious money, i mean $100mil or more for nationwide tv/radio/internet ads and whatnot because those against pot WILL spare NO expense to try prevent it being legalized.
in this political system money talks. elected officials really dont give a shit about what the sheeple want, only care about pocketing as much money/power as they can so they can buy re-election.
remember everyone that is needed to make legalization happen are currently getting molested by lobbyists/industries to keep it illegal. until they can get a better deal from "legalizers" they're gonna stick with keeping it illegal.
