Dead Mouse Season

No, not that dead mouse! This kind...

:smellsbadman:

Well, it's that time of the year where the mice are making their way into my house. Picked up some of the poison cubes, they seem to go nuts over those. I've found 3 dead mice now in 4 days, and I'm smelling another one. They work really well, even better than the traps.

Anyone else have to deal with mice in the winter?

My parents do. They use regular traps, but the cat they used to have worked very well too!

We have three cats here and they're worthless as far as catching mice goes. They do however kill the rats..

Yeah, well, cats tend to have downsides. In the case of my parents' (late) cat, you had to limit it to one mouse a day. It would catch up to three and devour them entirely, but the second and the third would inevitably do a U-turn in the cats gut.

I hear ya.

The cats here just play with the mice, they don't finish them.

Got any warranty on the cats? They're obviously faulty.

 They're all old and decrepit and will probably die this winter.

I might take them out so they don't have to suffer.

Just had to take down a horse the other weekend.

What's in them, the bait blocks?

I can highly recommend:

Brodifacoum 0.005% - For when you positively have to kill every rodent in the house

That stuff is so heady, if they just take a nibble to test its edibility, bam! thats a lethal dose for them. If they somehow survive, that poison is going to sit in their bodies for 2-4 months waiting for the next nibble to add to the lethality. Per gram of bait its easily 10x more lethal than more common rodenticides. Brodifacoum in that concentration is the world's leading agricultural rodenticide, its used to safeguard mankind's grains harvests. Bread and cornflakes would be a lot more expensive without it.

Mine's about 4x more toxic as a pure substance, and in twice the concentration, so it kicks 8x more ass.

1 of my tubs = 8 of your tubs.

That's cool.
Is it available commercially?

for an Earth Child you sure are homicidal ^_^

It depends on your country, generally you have to buy it in farmer's supply places, offline or online.

lol, just don't like sharing my home with intruders

I could probably find it at the Co-Op. They have some heavy duty pesticides and insecticides and junk.

I'm in the US so, I'm sure I could find it somewhere.

Exactly! And I don't know where the phrase 'quiet as a mouse' comes from.

I can hear the little buggers when I'm trying to sleep wandering around when I'm trying to sleep.

An online friend had a pet tarantula, so he played with it and at one point put it on the ground. It dashed under a closet, he heard "squeak!" then a minute later his eight legged friend came back holding a trembling mouse in its fangs. So if you dont like cats... :yesnod:
