Ever paid for a massage?

I'm considering shelling out the 50 or 60 bones it would cost for an hour massage somewhere.

I've got a lot of tension in my shoulders/neck i'd like to get rid of,  but I'm still hesitant, since I've never actually gotten a massage before.
I would feel a bit uneasy at first having some stranger touching me, but I think I could manage.

If anyone has had any experience, was it worth the cost to you? Did it prove to be effective in helping you relax?

Got one as a gift once. I would go with a woman masseuse though. You'll be more comfortable. Unless you like the idea of getting rubbed on by a guy.

thai girls do they shit at massaging! In london I saw people coming out of "THAI MASSAGES" shop looking like they fucked 10 chicks, totally exhausted. Then I went asking if they did something more than a massage and the guy told me they didnt.

I'm all for massages, as I also gather lot of tension in my upper back, neck and shoulders.

Yeah, I figured wherever I go I would have to request a female masseuse.
Not to sound homophobic, but I just don't think I could relax being rubbed by a man.

You guys have helped me decide, this weekend I'm gonna go for it then!

There's a hot yoga studio that offers massages near me, I think that's a likely

Don't really understand the whole "I'd feel weird getting a massage from a guy". I never really saw massages as a sexual activity. I mean they can be, but I presume you're talking more about relieving tension/sports massage, not heading to a brothel for some erotic rub from a topless prostitue.

Wow you guys are seriously homophobic.  I go to a male masseuse pretty often, especially now since I just had shoulder surgery.  It's $90/hr, but it's definitely worth it, and he really knows what he's doing and gets deep into the muscles.

I think you guys have a completely imagined view of what a massage is like.  If you're going for a massage to get knots and tension out of your shoulders and back, you're not going to be sitting there relaxing and enjoying it.  They fucking hurt.  They push very hard on all the trigger points to get the knots to release, and it is not fun.  I don't look forward to massages, but it helps out afterwards.

Not saying the massage is sexual, but being as the only time someone else is touching me, it is typically sexual.
Thus the associations with being touched just make it seem like it would, at least, initially be more comfortable coming from a female.
Its not like I'm blaming the guy for it being uncomfortable, it's ones own mental processes.

i got like what, 20 massages in my lifetime and ALL of them by men.

why? they are FAR stronger and this is what you want if that shit is supposed to actually do something.
