Would you take a paternity test for a friend?
    #15253721 -

If a friend offered to pay you to go take a paternity test in his place would you do it?

Let's say you look enough like him to use his ID.
You walk in, fill out some paperwork and they cotton swab your mouth, walk out.

Any moral concerns?
Would you get in any legal trouble if caught?

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus.
All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the
octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV.
But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns.
Also he got a race car.
Is any of this getting through to you?

Any moral concerns? Other than the fact that the deadbeat does not want to help support the child(ren) he brought into this world?

I don't think I could go though with it.

That's fucked up. I think I'd need to reevaluate my friendship with the person if someone asked this of me.

yep, it's fraud.  But honestly, as much as you all hate on it, i can come up with a few theoretical situations where i would side with the friend

This extremely illegal and dumb, and it won't work.

On top of that, he needs to take care of his kid.

do YOU want to be an accessory to this kid never knowing who his father is and growing up without that support?

Will you be able to sleep at night?

If a few nights in jail and/or a heft fine, and this moral baggage doesnt bother you, then go right ahead.

haha

i think aborting would be a better alternative than ducking out of fatherhood. i don't think there's anything wrong with aborting, especially in cases of severe retardation. the ugly truth is that that is just too much of a burden, and anyone who has to deal with that has my sympathy. ducking out of it and leaving the mother to deal with it on her own is sociopathic imo.

stolen sperm (has happened), woman lying about being on the pill (also happens), maybe a mix of those and knowing that the kid will have a defect that will make you lose a fuck ton of $, etc.

Rare, but can and have happened situations and I can think of more

those are equally deplorable, but as a father you just don't run out on your kid regardless of the circumstances. you may be done with the crazy bitch who pulled that on you but you gotta handle up on a kid. it's just the way it is.

fuck that, her decision, not yours.  According to that sperm donors are responsible for every child conceived using their dna.

i thought you were talking about the whole poke a hole in your diaphragm type deal. how would a woman steal sperm, keep it cold enough to impregnate herself (assuming she has the means to) and have access to the donor's information? i've never heard of such a thing happening.
