Good documentary on alcohol

so yea dont let the name of this one turn you off

i did for a while but now im finally watching it

and so far its very informative and not anti-drug at all

It really is worse than heroin.

Wow it gets even more interesting when they talk about the effects of alcohol on children and young teens.  I remember being 10 or 11, and stealing vodka during thanksgiving.  I made a strong drink that i forced down.  I wasn't drunk or even buzzed in the least, had a stomach ache and that's about it.

you will rarely spot a functional heroin addict cus
they keep it under wraps-hence functional

my 2c

you do see drinkers every day
Friends and colleagues

when most people see a heroin user its because they stand out
therfor the first thing they think of is--junkie

the fact is that when it comes to the damaging effects of the drug itself, heroin is relatively safe whereas alcohol has ruinous effects on your brain and body. the main health problems you see with heroin addiction are the risk of overdose, the lifestyle that comes with it, and the effects of repeated IV use but alcoholism after an extended period will cause severe damage to virtually every organ system in your body.

also, the withdrawal from alcohol can kill you

I was just clarifying that it isn't really a matter of opinion which drug has worse direct health effects, opiates don't come close to killing your liver and brain cells the way alcohol does :shrug:

You get all sorts of disorders from heroin.  The liver and kidneys both get fucked up.  Not to mention the abscesses and fucked veins.

Not necessarily the withdrawals but i'm quite sure my father would die of the liver scarring if he'd quit drinking now (+40 years habit

IV is just an administration route, there are users out there that never touch the needle.

Or my friends that OD from sniffing it are fine and still alive?
