Possible M. Rachodes (Shaggy Parasol) and others
    #15106207 -

Hey. Been a while since I posted, but I've been busier than hell. I did find something growing in my yard that got me a bit excited today though.

Habitat: Ohio, in a yard under a hemlock near crab apple and burning bush.

Spores: Spore print in process.

Stipe: Mostly white with a bulbous base. Ring is large and free. Stains reddish-brown when cut or bruised.

Cap: Convex, scaly, feathery edges.

Gills: White, free and close.

I'm pretty sure they are m. rachodes as I've picked and eaten them for a few years but I don't want to jump to conclusions just because I'm psyched. I'm excited because...Shaggy Parasols are my favorite to eat, it's in my yard and this would be my first successful transplant ever. I've been trying all different things to get them to grow here for a few seasons. Really hoping here.

Also, the scaly, yellow mushrooms below are under another hemlock 10 feet away. There was a mature one a few days ago but I wasn't able to get a picture of it then. It was about 8" tall with a 3-4" wide cap. Cap was mostly flat. I will add more pictures when these mature.

Also found this little mushroom (bolete?) on my camera. I think I found it knocked over last fall. Thought it looked cool with its babies.

Chlorophyllum rachodes (just double check the spore print isn't green, but I seriously doubt it will be.)

Amanita muscaria var. guessowii

Dunno.

Sporeprint came out white! That along with the reddish brown bruising pretty much confirms it. I just can't believe I was able to get them to grow here. They seem really happy here too. 6 have popped up so far.

Thanks!

I'll update with pics of the Amanita in a day or 2 to make sure.

Sounds biblical!

Went out and checked on them again this morning. Been raining a few hours.

Shaggy Parasols looking happy.

These big, white mushrooms popped up 5 feet away last night.

Amanitas are growing and multiplying.

These stinkhorns have been stinking up my garden all summer.

These guys don't seem to mind the stink. They are right next to them.
