5 and 6 look like armillaria tabescens.  1 and 2 maybe a. mellea? were there trees nearby 2?  maybe they were coming from tree roots? maybe mellea isn't right...

Yes, there was around a dozen clusters down the hill from a large and dead tree.

I must have seen over 100 clusters of those today in just an hour or two.  Would be most excellent if they were edible and I could go back tomorrow and harvest a shit ton :-)

Would you recommend I go back and harvest some of the A mellea?  There was tons of it out there.

My friend is getting into forestry management, she may not be to happy to hear her land is full of parasitic mushrooms killing her trees :/
