help me confirm, Armillaria tabescens ?
    #7546461 - 10/22/07 11:29 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

I'm pretty sure what I have here is the edible Armillaria tabescens (ringless honey)
but to be certain I would like some other opinions
the spore print is as white as a lamb so I'm 99% sure I have some food

Also I would like to state that I found these in Georgia on saturday brought some back with me in a cooler ..kept em cool and somewhat fresh I guess ..I have about 15 of them in my fridge I went to snap a stem and it snapped as if it were broccoli ..I'm pretty sure thats a good sign
If these are what I think they are
They should go well with some teriyaki chicken and rice tonight

heres the pics
replys will be appreciated

cluster fucked

The habitat

expected spore print to be orange but nope

While in Georgia I tried my luck with hunting for P. weilii
no such luck on finding them ..guess I was in the wrong county
If I had the time I would have stopped in Cobb county I'm pretty sure they love that county ...well atleast I didn't leave empty handed

Yes, looks like an Armillaria.
