I think these are the same mushrooms i was mistaking for some kind of gyms the other day. I guess it was just my mind playing tricks on me lol. My search for gyms will continue. Here is a great big bunch of what i really think to be Armillaria tabescens though, hope the pics are clear enough.

I've heard the stipe on those are too tough to eat unless used in a soup? And I also read that these mushrooms don't agree with everyone... I see them everywhere around here. Just wondering if anyone had any input?

Can't help with the first bit, but the only way to know if they agree with you or not is to sample a small piece first.

I ate 3 or 4 caps the size of quarters last night... feel fine. Big enough sample to go all in?

I have had some discomfort when I didn't cook long enough, but, with these, when cooked thoroughly, like in a soup... had no problems. .
