Ulcers!?

Bear with me i know this is disgusting.  Ive pooped this black mush for 3 days in a row.  Im thinking its blood, if it is it means im bleeding somewhere in the upper body.  I dont have any of the typical symptoms of things that cause black stool like ulcers.  I do drink a bit excessively though

i wonder whats up with me, i dont really expect an answer from anybody but its making me feel a little better talking about it.

Have you considered seeking medical treatment?  I would encourage it.

If it just happened for a day or two maybe I wouldn't sweat it, but any longer and I would start to worry.

Maybe stop drinking too, try cannibis.

Yeah i know your right, i should get checked out.  I just dont like doctor visits and im not insured. I have slowed down on drinking for a while and have been relying on cannabis.  Last night i had a solid but still black bowel movement.  It seems like the black color isnt as black as it was before though.  Wonder what this morning has in store....

ur bleeding, go see a doc,, i knew someone with same sympts. and had colon cancer left untreated, its a death sentence....

Wow colon cancer?  I sure hope i have anything like that, im only 22.  Another disgusting symptom, i can smell the metallic iron blood smell off my feces.  I dont have any pain to speak of, its strange and concerning.

u prob dont,,, thats how his started,, and progressed to having to wear a diaper cause red blood was flowing, when he got diagnosed, he was dead 90 days later.. it is treatable if detected early.. give it another couple days. if it doesnt stop get treatment, not trying to scare u,,

You know im starting to think i probably do have an ulcer, it makes sense.  I have noticed short bouts of nausea and upset stomach lately.  Didnt think anything of them as they pass relatively quickly and were infrequent.

A little background on me:
I drink usually like 5 times a week consuming well over 5 drinks in a night.

On top of that ive been smoking cigarettes for nearly a decade.  Within the last few years ive been smoking at least a pack and a half a day.  Newport 100s

First thing in the morning- I Try and clear out my throat and lungs of all the goo.  Then coffee in one hand cigarette in the other, i head to the john.

I cough so hard i occasionally vomit.  I cough so hard that as of late its been making me retch every morning. And the coughing (that is to say the intense coughing) subsides shortly after waking up. 

I felt like the coffee i drank( or whatever the contents of my stomach at the time) was being forced back up.  Almost like a burp coming up that i had to force myself to swallow back down or vomit uncontrollably. That was the routine 6 days ago. 
FUCK CIGARETTES IM DONE FOR GOOD! 

Its been great- Im not coughing like crazy anymore, my lungs feel clear, i feel really good aside from the shitting black thing.  I made a giant sign by my bed NO MORE CIGARETTES.  I quit a year or so ago for a month but foolishly thought i could smoke a cig here and there occasionally.  Well im truly done this time, its been 6 days and i honestly dont miss them one bit.  It was so easy, i just quit cold turkey.

I was pissy, upset, and eating everything in sight for the first two days.  On the second cigarette free night i ate all kinds of candy, skittles, spree, air heads, weird sour shit. 

I woke up the next morning congested and still with goo filled lungs from years of heavy smoking.  Well i coughed so hard i vomited.  It was a black goo, but it didnt burn like bile.  I thought the strange black color was from all the weird candy late the previous night and shrugged it off. 

That was also the first morning i had the black stool, which i also associated with my late night eating of all kinds of candy.  I noticed candy makes stool strange colors sometimes and dismissed it as that.

On the fourth day my lungs cleared out and i was coughing barely at all in the morning.

SYMPTOMS OF ULCERS

The black vomit i had didn't look like coffee grounds but i wouldn't be surprised if it was possibly blood.  I do most of the things that exacerbate ulcers, smoking/heavy drinking, stress.

It seems like i have an ulcer.  Anyone have experience, tips on what to eat/do?  No alcohol or spicy stuff obviously, and i know i have to make a visit to get checked out somewhere.

Since you are uninsured I assume you live in the US.  I imagine you meet the requirements for being on state provided insurance.  Getting that might be easier than you think, have you looked into it at all?

These things will come and go, just because symptoms go away it doesn't mean its better.  You've really got to get this looked at and might have to make some serious life changes.

Stop drinking coffee!  If you have to drink it find a mellow blend, don't drink too much and don't make it too strong.

Good work quittin cigs :thumbup:  fuck those things

Good luck, really you should see a doctor, if things get any worse or new symptoms arise I would go to the ER. Health comes first, don't allow yourself to put a $$$ value on it.

Ya i live in the US, there are definitely options i just have a stubbornness about medical stuff.  Im gonna see what i can do about getting checked out tomorrow.  I know i definitely need to make some lifestyle changes.  Drinking is next on the list.  I definitely wont be drinking til i get this sorted out.  I want to take a break for a while, or at least take it down to just a few drinks on the weekend.  Ive been pretty depressed for about a year now, i let a lot of things in my life slip.  Im just starting to pull my head out of my ass.

My stomach has been uneasy today most likely from trying to self diagnose myself.  My dad has/had ulcers and said to lay of the coffee.  Come to think of it thats probably why he always makes weak coffee.

I think they do the endoscopy through the esophagus when looking for ulcers.  At least i hope so:wtfsonic:
