I have a stomach problem...

I have had an on going battle with stomach problem for a while. Probably about 5 months.
When I first went to the doctor, they said its likely an ulcer and they did some easy tests. They prescribed Omeprazol for 3 months. Basically a super antacid that takes about 80% of the stomach acid away.
Now after those 3 months past, which was about halfway through october, everything seemed fine. Then after a couple weeks I started having problems again.
I'm kinda worried now. I think its something more then an ulcer. The pain that occurs is usually there regardless of eating or not. I have lost a good amount of weight from not eating. I usually drink tons of liquids because it tends to ease the stomach. Pain isn't persistent but it can be. It seems random when stomach pains occur after eating. Last night I got pains, but 3 days ago I didn't after eating a meal.
Anyways, I am just worried that its something more severe then an ulcer. I usually notice extreme discomfort when I wake up. I get nauseous( I have a prescription for anti nausea), and usually I don't eat for a while after waking up.
I really just want to know whats going on. I am probably going to re visit the doctor sometime soon. Anyone have any ideas? I know you all don't have degrees in a medical field, but I am wondering more along the lines of if the same symptoms occured to you or someone you know.
Just a bit about myself... I am about 190 pounds and almost 6 feet tall. I have a slim body type.

You have to understand that once you have ulcer, your stomach never gets to normal. And you're also predisposed to hyper acidity. Didn't the doctor tell you that? All your life, you'll have to have a balanced and health diet. You'll have to get rid of caffeine, dried fruits, raw vegetables, citrus, fatty meat, chocolate, soda and the like. I suggest a google search for further information on what's good and bad for your diet. Getting enough sleep is essential, avoid getting nervous and stressed. And find a new (and better) doctor.

He didn't tell me that. He told me I had to change my diet but did not give me any guidelines. I wake up constantly while I'm sleeping and it SUCKS. I have googled to try and figure out what it could be but I didn't google what my new diet should be.
Any other tips would be greatly appreciated and thanks.
I would also like to say, I know smoking is bad. I don't smoke cigarettes and never have but when I smoke weed it alleviates symptoms SO well.

Well, time to go to a new doctor. Also, I don't think that smoking weed is that bad for your ulcer, that, if you keep a balanced diet and respect the other cryteria. The fact that it alleviates pain is also good, but it doesn't mean that it will also cure it. So keep that in mind. Here's some links about ulcer, what's causing it and what you should do: http://www.umm.edu/digest/ulcers.htm http://heartburn.about.com/od/pepticulcers/a/ulcer_diet.htm http://heartburn.about.com/od/pepticulcers/a/ulcer_diet_2.htm http://heartburn.about.com/od/pepticulcers/a/ulcer_diet_3.htm
It doesn't mean that you won't have to see a doctor and make some complete analysis. It is possible that some of the recommended foods will come in conflict with other health problems that you have, as well as medicine. This is exactly why you need to know everything about your health condition and what's the optimum way to treat the matter.
If you take care of it, there's nothing you have to worry about.

Thanks dude, I really appreciate it. I have read quite a bit about ulcers already. But I'm hoping those links provide some more or better information.

I would check out Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. I don't know if it would work at all for an ulcer-related problem, but it works miracles for the stomach.
I had a horrible stomach problem a few weeks back and no doctor I went to could tell me what it was. Every time I ate food I would get a debilitating pain in my stomach, rendering me quite useless. I started drinking 2 tbsp of ACV in water 3 times a day and it completely cured it.
You must get organic with this, as non-organic gets filtered and heated and all the beneficial enzymes and vitamins, etc. are destroyed.
Check out the Bragg brand.
