Good hip hop recommendations

I've been digging into a lot of hip hop lately and would like some good recommendations. Here's what's been tickling my fancy recently.....

Del the Funky Homosapien, Hieroglyphics, Bukue One, Blackalicious, People Under the Stairs, Aesop Rock, etc.

this is one of my favorite songs by them.

Souls of Mischief - old school 93 hip hop but very good imo. this is what got me really into hip hop.

atman or Lost children of Babylon - they talk alot about mystic stuff, like piramids, meditation, chakras, even reptillians, they are pretty sick if your into that stuff.


if you like hip hop beats i would really recommend J dilla and flying lotus. if you don't like them now you will in the future.

i will give you some more recommendations tommarow if you like, im done for the night.

Glad to see you're getting into the underground stuff. Some good recommendations from others on here for sure.

I've listened to an absurd amount of artists from all different styles. These are three of my all time favorite artists and songs. If you like original, creative, meaningful, and insightful lyricism, you will not be disappointed by any of these, guaranteed.

Eyedea - Guy was a prodigy. I'm not sure if anyone who has listened to his freestyles or battles would argue that a better freestyle rapper has ever walked the earth.


Kristoff Krane - This guy is one of the most underrated individuals I've ever seen. If you listen to him you'll be one of few. He was actually good friends with Eyedea and there are videos of them freestyling together.


Illogic - Also not that well-known but deserving of huge respect. One of the best lyricists I've ever heard.

sweet if you like AESOP then you'd most likely love everyone on DEF JUX records

el-p runs it and does alot of beats for aesop so look up def jux

anticon and def jux are the best hip hop labels imo

Kool Keith is pretty good, been listening to Black Elvis a bunch (not his best, but I dig it especially Livin' Astro)
Also been listening to a lot of Hilltop Hoods recently.  Their song Nosebleed Section is stuck in my head
