Using New LG Dryer/washer for Sterilization

Hey guys I've got one of the new LG washers and there is a sterilization setting on it and also comes with a removable rack to put shoes, jars or whatever you want to sterilize on.. It sterilizes with steam and is suppose to take care of any and all bacteria. The process takes about 2 hours.  Has anyone tried this with sterilizing their jars??  I've never had any problems sterilizing with pc/pot, bu was curious if this works. I would imagine it would work.

hmmm
wonder what temp its sterilizing at
wonder if it could sterilize grain jars
and pasteurize large substrates, etc.

maybe you can run it with a thermometer(does it have a window...that would be cool)
to see its max/min temps, avg temps, duration of temps, etc

i dont think it would work with grains.

maybe if you went for more than 2 hours.


do you have a temperature probe you can leave in there and monitor what temp it actually gets to?

probably better to just get an PC rather than use your expensive washer for such a purpose. Also it would not be under pressure so for steam sterilization it may take aloooooong time :smile:
