William Basinski has some good stuff although is stuff is usually much more repetitious.  Like to the point that I'm not going to sit and listen to the same 10 second clip over and over for 20 mins or longer.

That sad I've always really liked this one played at a decent volume through quality speakers.

Still though, I think Tim Hecker is my favorite ambient artist of them all.

Well Tim Hecker's Haunt Me album is quite long so I'm pretty sure you don't know just HOW good it is yet... Haha.

But I also like a group...or guy (not sure) that goes by the name Helios.  Haven't listened to them in a while but I just scanned the iPod and quickly for any ambient names to catch my eye and I came to them first from where I was currently located.  Not sure if it is exactly ambient persay, but it's definitely ambient-ish/downtempo.

I'm not real found of the singing in the second one, but the music is tight!

And yeah, Brian Eno is pretty much a must when you mention ambient music.

Haha no doubt.  There's tons of good ambient chill stuff.  Lots of variety within the genre.  You just gotta find what you like.

This is awesome too I think.  I'll leave the rest up to you.

IDK if I'd call this ambient, but it's definitely some really good down/midtempo stuff.
A lot of which can be a bit heavier if you have some speakers/headphones with good bass range.

Dreaming by Pantyraid <-- not ambient, in fact it's a bit heavy, but good nonetheless.

Daved & Confused by Tipper

Midnight Bloom by Bluetech & Shulman

Bluetech and Tipper are two of my favorite Downtempo artists.. Hope you like

ENTHEOGENIC SOUND EXPLORERS ARE PERFECT :mushroom2: FOR TRIPPING

THEY MADE 4 GREAT PSYCHEDELIC ALBUMS for DATABLOEM rec (and on iTunes)

THE CD IN WAVE FORMAT ARE BETTER FOR A SERIOUS TRIP

CHECK THEM OUT:

http://soundcloud.com/esesound

http://www.databloem.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&manufacturer_id=274&Itemid=2

THE NEW ALBUM IS GREAT (here is the review):

Entheogenic Sound Explorers fourth and most consistent album so far, offering an hours worth of adventurous dubby, hypnotic ambient. With "Quarto" Stefano Contini & Piero Marchesi have made another step in pushing their composing and production skills to a higher level. The albums seems to tell a story, travelling through psychedelic landscapes with a sense of hope and being. Put on repeat and you will discover new paths with each listen.

PEACE & LIGHT
