i dunno homie. not never as in never at all. but never in the united states of america. by the time the powers that be will have relinquished control that much - i think the entire concept of the USA will be something different. that rings true to me. sure eventually you will be able to smoke a J without being persecuted in what is now the USA. but for that to happen i think the USA will have to be something very different. psychedelic consciousness will never be legal in the USA as it exists today because it is far too much of a threat to the structure of power and control.

So you think that drugs are incompatible with Constitutional Democracy? I don't get why everyone says that psychedelics would be such a threat to our system of government. I mean, I can see why our current government won't legalize them, but how exactly will legalizing psychedelics threaten a future administration?

I believe reefer will eventaly be legalized, but only after the demographics of voters change over the next 20 years or so. Canada's on the verge now, I might have to apply for a canadian work visa if they do.

It will become legal when enough of you stand up together to make it legal.

Or, failing that, when our generation becomes the generation currently "in power" I think there will be many more people in government who think pot either isn't a big issue, or want it legalized.

I doubt that. The generation that is CURRENTLY "in power" are the Baby Boomers . . . remember, Woodstock, flower-power, etc.? They were the most liberal generation in American history, much more so than the current generations X and Y. The Boomers loved pot and they're also the ones who started using acid and who brought the shrooms back from Central America. If the Boomers haven't legalized pot, I have a hard time imagining who will. It might happen in another fifty or sixty years when the people just now being born reach power, but I can't imagine it happening any sooner than that. What's happening in Canada is irrelevant. America isn't Canada, by a long shot. Teenagers in America these days are pretty conservative and conformist. They may be using drugs now, but once they reach adulthood they'll adopt the same hyprocritical stance that the Boomers have.

Millions of people smoke,teachers smoke weed,doctors smoke weed,police smoke weed,judges smoke weed,Marion Barry smokes everything,I'd say about half the people in the US smoke weed.75% of the US thinks weed should be de-criminalized.I doubt it will be legalized within 10 years though,maybe after that,probably not though.It doesn't really matter though,people will still smoke regardless,nobody can tell me not to practice a holy sacrament

The truth is once you get a nice job, you won't open your big mouth. Alot of money keeps anyone quiet. How many of you on this forum, who are so high and mighty about always doing the right thing, talk about drugs at work? Sure there are alot of excuses, but it basically boils down to: afraid of losing your job. Thats why people come here. To talk about what they wont in real life.

I think it will certainly be legalized. As soon as the sheeple realize the neo-repulicans are really jsut the Coperation party, and Coperate colonialium is nothing more than modard day Monarchy.

The professors at my college told me how they used to drink and smoke weed right out in the school lounge when they were students there back in the 70's.

then the regan admin came along, and america got all into social proabition, and materialisum. They couldn't smoke in public anymore without getting in trouble.

All we can do to progress as an enlightend people is resist the neo-republicans.

The domocrats arn't much better, and liberman is jsut a neo-republican in democrate camoflaug, but if we can get someone else in there, and libertairians into the smaller offices, we may have a shot at a free country one day.

Alcohol kills more people than coke and heroin combined, and we all know how many people cigarettes kills.... alcohol makes people violent, unable to communicate or drive at all.. only makes sense that pot would be legal right!? I'll paraquote Bill Hicks on this issue:
