Anybody check out the new album by RHCP?

I've only heard "Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie", the new album "Im With You" is supposed to drop tomoorow, I'm Pumped!!  One big complaint is this Josh Klinghoffer character just doesn't seem to cut it.  I WANT JOHN BACK :mad:

It's streaming free on iTunes. I've listened to some of it, but nothing really stood out. I really love all of the John albums.

yeah fruiscante was awesome

i think the new song sounds really good til they get to the chorus then that completely fucking ruins it

Frusciante was good but I actually liked Dave Navarro a lot more. One Hot Minute is my fav album of theirs. :tarantino:

Walkabout is still my favorite RHCP song. I first heard it driving back with some buddies from a camping trip and made them all listen to the song 10 times in a row before we could go to the next track :lol:

Other than that, OHM was eeehhhh.

I've only heard that single they released, but i'm definitely pumped to hear the rest of it.

Definitely one of the greatest bands of all time!

I heard the single on the radio. Thought it was kinda uh...repetitive...they're treading old water. I probably won't bother to listen to the album.

John Fruciante's melodies made that band what they are, in my eyes anyway.

Yeah.... Now that i've gotten farther into it it's kinda... eh... I wouldn't say "shit" but it's not really good.  Except for the song Look Around, I like that one alot.  I'm just now on track 7 though (which happens to be adventures of raindance maggie which I don't much care for)....

I hope the second half of the album is better than this....

I didn't like the single that I heard a few weeks ago. If that is one of the better songs on the album it's going to suck.

Yeah I didn't like the single either. Didn't even listen to the whole thing, changed the station.

Everyone what's your favorite RHCP album?

Everyone always talks about the old funk stuff like it is superior. Maybe I'm just a couple years too young or whatever, but 'give it away' (song) never did anything for me. I liked all of the slower songs on blood sugar sex magic. Some of the pumped up funk stuff is cool too of course. Aeroplane is a great song if only Anthony could sing in key :grin:.

But my favorite has to be either Californication or By the Way. Probably mainly thanks to Fruciante. I love the more melodic side of them that existed for a short period there. Stadium Arcadium had a couple of cool songs but nothing like those other two. Californication and By the Way are good all the way through :thumbup:

RHCP is my favorite band, but unlike some RHCP fanatics I don't really like One Hot Minute/Mothers Milk/Uplift Mofo Party Plan. In my opinion By The Way-Stadium Arcadium was their best work. I found I'm With You to be a bit lackluster. It just seemed mediocre. Few songs really stood out, there weren't many horrible ones but few memorable ones.

Also many songs seemed to be bass heavy, which is nice but there wasn't much in the way of guitar riffs Klinghoffer relegated himself to chords and short solos. There just weren't as  many memorable songs as previous albums.

One Hot Minute was indisputably their best album. Followed closely by Blood Sugar Sex Magic. Been a steady decline since.

It's still good up to like Californication.

Then it's like irrelevant and pointless
