Probably, never went to DEMF though.  Lots of ravers, it was fun, but I like jam band fests a lot better.

I had the time of my life at Bonnaroo this year! Going again next year for sure. I also want to go to All Good next summer to experience a smaller but still large gathering. This summer I went to a smaller fest called Jerry Fest, dedicated to the Dead. Found some awesome blotters there!!!

Smaller festies are great cause it's a more personal feel to it.

Yes.  I want to do as many as possible this summer, assuming I get a flow of income.

Nah but I really need to. I'm always fucking broke. But one of these days I want to attend a legit music festival with some jam bands and dose up on some good acid. :lsd:

This past summer i attended 3 festivals, or what ever you want to call em'....

They were all relatively small gatherings, the smallest having around 150 people, and the biggest having around 2000 people...They were held at various random locations off the beatin' path, in the middle of the woods up in the mountains. No worries of law enforcement of any kind. Just you and a bunch of other legit heads in the woods for 3-4 days, with music that literally never stops, ever, all through out the day, night, and early hours of morning....

Living in northern California is nice, there is practically a camp-out/festival/gathering going on every single weekend of summer.

Damn, can't wait for the first camp out of spring to get here...:hippie:

Wow,these look wonderful!

Small and intimate, plus great music...My idea of a great "festival".

All good is badass whereas Bonnaroo is garbage.

All good:
1) Smaller, cooler, non-deuschy frat guy crowd
2) better dr00gz
3) better landscape
4) cheaper
5) not 3204823424 degrees
6) you don't die from enormous dust clouds
7) there is shade
8) No giant horses ready to kill you

Bonnaroo
1) The inverse of all the goods things said about All Good.
2) Infinite shops that sell cool shit.
3) The "fair-like" atmosphere of centeroo is actually pretty cool.

Yes I sure do. Went to the Austin Reggae Fest 09 back in April. Saw a bunch of TX grown bands that included Channel One, Subrosa Union, Grimy Styles, and Skatalites. Grimy and Skat were jammin BTW. Had 3 different buds. Grape Ape, Afghan Diesel, and The Purp. Lost my pipe glad I did cause I got another bad ass glass one.

Also attended ACL 09 but on Saturday only. Saw Citizen Cope, Airborne Toxic Event, The Scabs, and Dave Matthews. Wanted to check out Ghostland Observatory but didn't get there on tiime.

There is advantages to going to smaller festivals and there is advantages to going to larger festies, smaller festies usually have a chiller vibe, are cheaper, and usually have no cops.  Larger festies usually have a lot better music, more people, more drugs, and just more insanity.  I like the bigger festies more myself, but I try to mix it up, especially if there's a smaller festie within 50 miles of where I live.  I think Allgood is my favorite fest, pretty scenery, chill people, lots of drugs, very few cops, and tons of great music.  On a side note, did anyone see people selling turtles at Rothbury and Allgood?

Bonnaroo is wild though.  I love it.  It's like 90 thousand people that are just there to eat tons of drugs and see tons of music.  I dig!  Plus it is the closest festival in relation to my residence.

I love going to summer festivals, camping out for 4~5 days.  Most of the festivals I've gone to are pagan-oriented festivals that have 1K people or less.  I went to Dreamtime back in 2007, which is music-oriented, it's a bit larger, like 2~3K, I plan on going back next summer.

I'm just curious...

Does anyone here attend music festivals or any other "culture" festivals?

I went to Hash Bash this year in Ann Arbor, MI and Loyal Earth in St. Louis, MO.

I got to see EOTO and Pretty Lights in St Louis.  Probably some of the best live "techno/trance" I've seen.... Although I'm not quite sure what category they fall under.  I also got to check out Green Skies Blue Grass and The Macpodz while in Ann Arbor at the Blind Pig.  Was quite the experience since I managed to find a hit of LSD.

I was supposed to attend Rothbury this year, but I got sick and two flat tires....  If It weren't for the flats, I would have still driven all the way to MI.  Next year I plan on going to Bonaroo, Rothbury, and 10,000 lakes... maybe even Burning Man.  We'll have to see how things go.  I graduate with my Master's in business next year, so hopefully I'll still have time to enjoy some festivals.

I love going to festivals.  I went to Rothbury and it was the best.  (Pretty Lights was the best electric show I've ever seen too!  I saw them at Rothbury!  Candy flip + Pretty Lights = :aweoverdose:)

Ann Arbor is the SHIT!  In case anyone on the Shroomery doesn't know, they got decriminalied weed!  I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited to go to hash bash again!  I have a lot of friends who go to U of M, and I can crash there.  I love driving over to Ann Arbor and staying the night on weekends!

I go to a few every year.  Maybe not many festivals though, Ive gone to Symbiosis Gathering 2006 and 2007.

I like Goa Gil, but its not really a festival since its usually just a 24-40 hour dj set.

out of the dozen or so music parties I have been to, half have been Goa Gil, he is just an indescribable master of Psychedelic trance

Yes they are!. I love "smaller" festivals/gatherings. Way more intimate, you really meet and get to know a lot of people. And then see a lot of those same people at events all over northern California.

And northern California has a lot of legit talent when it comes to music, so even though the events are smaller in size the music is still :awesome: .

You just sorta get in the loop of things and start to find out about different crews, event organizers, promoters, etc...

Within a year after going to my first camp out, i went from not knowing of anything going on, to knowing of at least 2 a month.

You can look for events online, but typically the smaller camp outs aren't advertised all that much....

Where in nor-cal do you live?...

Then you've been to that amazing spot up above Angels Camp.

I went to my first festival/camp out at that location, but it was much smaller than Symbiosis. Probably only 150-250 heads.

Can't wait to go back. Hopefully there will be something going on there this spring
