what shows/festivals have you guys been to this year?!?!

oh man this has been one hell of a year. i just got back from kanrocksas a few days ago. by far the most badass festival ive been to. such an amazing lineup.

i saw D12, kid cudi, primus, bassnectar, the flaming lips, and eminem the first night. then day 2 was grace potter, flogging molly, a perfect circle, the black keys, and then muse. tripping and rollin balls both nights. best time of my LIFE!!!

wakarusa was pretty awesome too, but kanrocksas still blew waka out of the water. at wakarusa i got to see buckethead, beats antique, shpongle, grace potter, STS9, ana sia, and bassnectar.

been to 2 other bassnectar shows besides the festival shows, and i have a ticket for a show next month for the new album tour. i feel SO lucky to have been able to see a perfect circle not just once, but TWICE in 1 month. never seen them before this tour.

also saw ana sia open for bassnectar at one of his shows. cant wait for the divergent spectrum tour next month! im taking a friend for his first show. its my 8th nectar experience :smile:

what about everyone else? what have you guys been up to this summer?

I've been to 4 music festivals so far this summer.

Sacred Earth in Black River Falls, WI. (small psy-trance festival)

Summer Camp in Chillicothe, IL. (STS9, Lotus, Bassnectar, Big Gigantic)

Electric Forest in Rothbury, MI. (Emancipator, Pretty Lights, String Cheese Incident)

Grateful Garcia Gathering in Black River Falls, WI. (Melvin Seals and The Schwag)


And in about a month I plan on going to North Coast in Chicago.

Only been to Waka.  Had a pretty bad-ass time though.

Tried to meet up with a fellow Shroomerite, but it never worked out.

I haven't been to any festivals but I've seen Shpongle twice and Bassnectar once. I'm also seeing Infectd Mushrooms dj set Saturday night..should be pretty sweet.

I also have Tiesto, Pretty Lights, STS9, Lotus, and EOTO shows to go to in the fall!

Should be a pretty sweet fall.

pretty uneventful summer as far as shows goes for me, it sucks...its a combo of no good shows in the area and me working a  bunch...but ill start in january

jan 1st - steve aoki, hung out with him in the casino after and gambled with him for a while, cool shit, lame ass crowd

feb 17th - steve aoki again, played at my fav olcal college to visit, had to go

march  - couple of shows at a club where my boy was headlining

april 2 - mimosa
april 7 - jack beats w/ breakage
april 17 and 19 - bassnectar
april 25th - wolfgang gartner
late april - another club show where my boy headlined, got VIP access

may 2 - a trak

july - Camp Bisco
july 10 - Soundgarden
july 23 - 311 w/ sublime (311 sucked ass, sublime was fun)

tomorrow night i got Flux Pavilion and Doctor P

ID fest next saturday...crookers on sept 1st...incubus on sept 10th...orchard liunge on the 17th or sumthing like that...and thats all i know now...after ID i bet a lot of the guys are gonna be playing somewhere, so ill try to find sumthing like that for after


idk ive been going to a lot less shows this year than the last couple years, kinda sucks

Did camp and various local shows here.  VERY jealous of northcoast.  That fest looks fire as fuck and what SHOULD be going on in the fest scene.  Add GOOD DJs as opposed to Skrillex / Bassnectar shit.  Maybe when that happens I won't be overrun by 18 year old bass heads.

skrillex is what ruins the scene...never fucking compare bassnectar to skrillex...nectar has been a DJ/prioducer for 15 years with some supoer fucking legit music

skrillex cant DJ and whether he is a producer or not is debateable...but yeah, most of nectars crowds are fucking lame...his crowds 3 years ago were soooooooooo much fucking cooler, and in tiny little venues


and yeah, im super jealous of northcoast...tix were wicked cheap too

bassnectar is the shit. sometimes the crowd pisses me off. like at kanrocksas. this girls ass was attached to MY ass and she kept fucking rubbing up against me to the point of me not being able to stand up on my own 2 feet. i pushed her and 4 other people straight backwards cause they were pissein me the fuck off. my camp site neighbors were with me, and this one chick was about to fuck that girl UP. it was great.

im sick of hearing people bitch about bassnectar crowds. fuck the crowd, i go for the music. i dont care what people wanna dress up like or do whatever. just dont hit me with a fuckin hula hoop and push me around and hit me in the face and well be cool. that shit ruins my trip.

Went to Electric forest this year, awesome time.  So much good music.
Saw Flux and Dr. P.
Saw Skrillex.  Fun show, but not a huge fan of him.
Saw Bassnectar and seeing him agian with EOTO in a couple months.
Younder Mountain String Band in a few days.
Few Umphrey's McGee shows this year in the books already, more to come.

Ran by the hells angels they own the property. Basically free drug economy. First day was beautiful but the second day it rained. Was still an amazing time!

yeah u just say that cuz u probly werent around back in the old days, his crowds a few years ago were sooooooo much fucking cooler, just real heads...not infested with little kids and fucking frat boys...his crowds fucking suck, but i love his music and evidently the crowd isnt enough to deter me (yet) from bassnectar

MiMOSA was one of the sickest dubstep sets ive ever seen and i was basically sober (for a dubstep show lol)
