Lichen for humidity?

havin a bit of trouble keeping high humidity because the ac just eats it out the air and im not comfortable leaving it somewhere else because temp will be really high so was thinkin of ways to keep high humidity. Any chance using some lichen to retain water would work, or maybe a soaked washcloth or polyfiber? Kinda just throwin stuff out there honestly. tried searchin for it but cant find much

What is your fc setup? Are you already using perlite?

23L sgfc, has about 5 inch of perlite. Noticed after 7 days after rinsing, it was almost bone dry

Ooh idk, i'd probably add some more perlite but before you do anything wait to see what some of the pros around here suggest.

The chamber gets tons of fae and misting. Really dont like misting though, cant imagine mushies in the wild have constant water droplets on em but thats the only way to keep rh up (try to mist and let the smallest of droplets touchdown). gave em a good misting earlier as well cause they seemed rather dry and figured couldnt hurt, just like getting a nice lil rain sprinkle

Try using the sniper mode on your mister and wet the perlite instead..

And you should mist above the shroomies and fan until the water droplets nearly evaporate

i bet the OP has a fan directed at his SGFC, a central air system wont really dry out an entire 5 inches of perlite in a week :S

just a ceiling fan. Its a small room with its own wall unit ac, eh...rerinsed the perlite and it  did wonders. donno how it dried out so fast should prob pay more attn

but the fan isnt directly moving air around the chamber? usually the chamber is at the bottom of some steps right next to the door for light (like 4ft down from the rest of the room with walls surrounding it, cant imagine much air gets pushed through it) but I will watch it and see whats goin on, but you probably are right. thankyou
