is this the scientific method you're referring to?

question evolution = blackballing

question peer review = blackballing

That doesnt happen.  You are just making things up.

I do not understand anyone who has seen this interview and calls Dawkins a douche or a dick. He was calm and respectful ALL the time, has answered her questions clearly and tried to move the discussion along.

I don't get it, at all.

the point about the scientific community shutting down/blackballing anyone
that questions their belief in evolution was pretty spot on. science
apparently has the need to appeal to authority and to 'burn the heretics'
that question those teachings.

funny too how dawkins resorted to attacking her in under 6 minutes

No, it isn't. They get blackballed because they push bunk science that can't be supported by peer review. Those people would get shunned regardless if they were pushing bunk about evolution or anything else. That's how the scientific community keeps the pseudoscience out.

Ha, I dont think so.  Pris is OK and knows a lot, but science is not his strong point.  And, I think he has an anti-evolution bent, if only slightly.

whatever confirmation bias exists in the scientific consensus exists only moreso in the religious agenda of creationists that seek to disprove evolution. she straight up admitted that one of the main reasons she opposes evolution is because she thinks that if people believe in evolution they will be less moral. which has fuck all to do with the scientific evidence. I'm not disagreeing that academia is chock full of status quo bullshit and appeals to authority, but that in and of itself doesn't make evolution false. to me there's a hell of a lot more evidence for evolution than against it, and last time I checked there is no solid evidence for a 6,000 year old earth created by a judeo-christian god with humans and dinosaurs walking the earth together.

agreed, dawkins can have a somewhat abrasive personality, but I think this can be chalked up to the combination of a low tolerance for bullshit and the average american's view of british professor types as being snobby.

I don't believe he attacked her at all. I think that any person who respects itself and wants to have a honest conversation will refuse to continue a discussion that way. If someone is trying to sell you shit, something's wrong.

like the theory of special relativity, the big bang theory and many others?

no, they're blackballed for going against the thought of the day

peer review is yet another of the jokes science has played

I don't think that supports your claim of blackballing at all.  I suppose blackballing could be interpreted in different ways...

Isn't making mistakes part of the scientific method?

isnt dawkings trying to sell his agenda?
why else would he care enough to take a film crew to have this interview

He has an agenda, and it is trying to sell the scientific theory of evolution by natural selection.  That is not the same as selling an agenda.  Saying he is 'selling an agenda' is a dysphemism.

Except that because "science" is not a singular group with ulterior motives and lacks a central authority, any fraud is inevitably not systemic...

having faith is a part of the scientific method too because there are
theories that break the very laws that science has established
