Re: Richard Dawkins VS. Wendy Wright [Re: millzy]

I missed them before ;P

I guess my whole purpose in this thread is to try to add a healthy dose of "i don't know for sure" to the abiogenesis crowd.

I believe that the science is on the right track, but it still has simply not been completely qualified.

We still have not observed it, there is evidence that may suggest it, but it is not yet law.

Until it is a law, there is still an element of faith in believing it is.

Szostak irked me a bit with the opening statement in the website.

Quote:
We are interested in the chemical and physical processes that facilitated the transition from chemical evolution to biological evolution on the early earth. As a way of exploring these processes

It's not good science to start out with a contained conclusion (that chemical to biologic evolution is the only possibility.)

At first glance Szoztak appears to be somewhat biased, not that there is anything wrong with that if he has proof.

yeah, i dunno why i like picking at you / getting all huffy, sorry.  I think it is because i have encountered people who claim scientist absolutism or authoritarianism without really understanding it in a similar way to a religious person with their priest.

I really found your links productive and interesting after i read over your posts,

Thanks!
