This is right down the road from me.  both where the murders took place, and where they caught the guy.  Turns out he went to my high school.  im 29, hes 33 so i just missed being in school with him, but a bunch of my friends know him.  Fucking crazy.  he went into this small ass neighborhood Pharmacy Sunday morning, stole a backpack worth of pills, and snuffed out 4 people inside.  2 customers, and 2 employees.  ages, 17 female, 33 female, 45 male, 71 male.  execution style.  whole community has been on edge since.  turns out hes some lil pussy ass kid pretty much who stole them to support him and his wifes habit.  fuckin a tho.....no idea why this dum fuck killed everyone.  there was no resistance from the employees or customers.  fucked up.....  google David Laffer, or, Medford New york, or long island pharmacy or drug store murders.  Havens Pharmacy, Havens Drugs Store, and shit along the lines for more articles if you wish.  Its nuts when shit like this happens in your front yard.  Surreal!


Sources: Police make arrest in Medford drug store massacre

(06/22/11) MEDFORD - Sources tell News 12 Long Island that police have made an arrest in the quadruple murder that happened at a Medford pharmacy on Sunday.

Police have not confirmed the arrest, but witnesses say police cars and officers in bulletproof vests swarmed a home on Pitchpine Place in Medford, which is within walking distance of the pharmacy. An eyewitness says a man and woman were taken from the home in handcuffs.

According to Newsday, the man has been identified as David Laffer, 33, and his wife.
Neighbor Christine Baldwin, who lives a few houses down from the house where the arrests took place, says undercover police vehicles have been stationed on the block for the past few days.

Victim Jamie Taccetta’s grandmother arrived at the scene and said, “I wish they (police) would have shot him from the angle he shot her.”

The quiet community of Medford was horrified this week when a privately owned pharmacy was stormed by a lone gunman in an apparent robbery. The bearded male suspect shot all four people who were in the store, including a 17-year-old girl who was on the brink of graduating high school.

Fucked up shit; I suppose he attempted to eliminate any witnesses and thereby reduce his chances of getting caught. Which is ironic, 'cause hadn't executed everyone on the premises, the cops probably wouldn't have put so much time and effort into this.

L.I. pharmacy massacre: Police take Medford resident David Laffer in custody in murder investigation

A quiet Long Island man was hauled out of his house in handcuffs Wednesday and was being questioned in connection with the cold-blooded massacre of four people at a local pharmacy.

David Laffer was removed from his Medford, L.I., home after heavily-armed officers from the Suffolk County Police stormed the house.

Laffer, 33, who has a clean police record, has not been charged. The potential break in the case capped an intensive three-day manhunt for the maniac responsible for the massacre at Haven Drugs on Sunday.

"I just want to take a good look at him," Daniel Taccetta, brother of shooting victim Jamie Taccetta, said when he arrived at a Suffolk County Police station. "We want justice. The lethal injection would be too quick for him. He should rot in solitary confinement."

Laffer's neighbors were stunned by the development.

"I've known David since he was a child," said a weeping Ziada Ayala, a neighbor and family friend of 40 years. "He was just a nice quiet boy."

Peter Spano was helping a pal do housework next door when cops stormed the house.

"They used a battering ram on the door and less than two minutes later they walked a young man out," Spano said. "He walked right by me. He was cuffed behind his back."

Laffer, Spano said, "looked withdrawn, like a skull."

"He looked like death," he said. "He looked like there was nothing in him. He didn't say a word."

In several Internet postings, Laffer claimed to have served in an Army military intelligence unit in The Bronx under Ronald Bucca, a heroic fire marshal who was killed on 9/11.

"He always talked about the FBI," Ayala said.

But in a Daily News wedding announcement that appeared in January 2009, Laffer was described as working "in logistics shipping and receiving."

Laffer, according to the announcement, was also a devoted Islanders fan whose proposal to his wife, Melinda Brady, was show on the large TV screens in the arena.

It also appears that Laffer played goalie on a local hockey team. On his Facebook page, he listed the Springfield XD - a semi-automatic handgun - as one of his activities.

Laffer was nabbed after dozens of shaken Medford residents held a vigil outside the drug store turned killed zone.

Many placed red roses at the door of the shuttered store as a Catholic priest delivered a prayer for the dead.

"It's unbelievable to think anything like this can happen in our community," said Jim Gubitosi, 59, who was among the 30 or so visitors paying their respects. "It's the only thing anyone is thinking about."

Cops say the killer methodically shot two store employees, pharmacist Raymond Ferguson, 45, of Centereach, and store clerk Jennifer Mejia, 17, of East Patchogue.

He also shot two customers - Taccetta, 33, of Springfield and Bryon Sheffield, 71, of Medford - before walking out with a knapsack full of prescription drugs, police said.

Brianna Cirillo, 19, held a photo of her slain friend, Mejia.
"She had her whole life in front of her," she said. "He had no remorse. It's not fair for any of these families."

lol.  i think the beard was fake tho.
heres a fairly recent picture of him.  even if he had a beard, i dont think it would be so black.  he was wearing a disguise im sure.

I'm glad they caught that fucking scum bag piece of shit. I saw this on CNN just after it happened. It really is tragic that so many innocient people died. That pussy ass junkie is going to have a hard time in prison. They don't like people in there that kill young girls and old men. I foresee a death by broomstick up the ass for him.

I've been following this on the news since it initially happened. So tragic, but I'm glad they caught this worthless piece of trash. Hopefully, he'll get the death penalty. If anyone deserves it, he does.
