does anyone here smoke RYO cigarettes?

i just got out of prison and was have been smoking top rolling tobacco for the past year. and now that im out, i smoke like a pack a day.

im thinking of buying a pack of RYO's. it'll last me way longer and less people will ask me for a cigarette.

if you do smoke em, what brand do you buy?

I used to smoke Bali Shag but it became scarce around here and then the gub'mint taxed the Hell out of RYO. Pipe tobacco wasn't really affected much by the tax increase, though, so a lot of tobaccos suitable for RYO were then marketed as pipe tobaccos, with a wider cut and higher moisture content.

So now I use a cigarette injector machine with one of those tobaccos. Usually the Peter Stokkebye Amsterdam, Norwegian or Turkish blends.

a pack of rolling tobacco is still cheaper than a pack of cigarettes here im pretty sure. and like i said, i think a pack of RYO will last like 3 times longer than a pack of cigarettes.


ill have to check out bali shag if i can find it.

and my friends mom had one of those injector machines. they were pretty cool. how much does one of those run anyways?

RYO is nowhere near as cheap as it used to be a couple of years ago. I would still smoke Bali or the Stokkebye shag cuts if it was worth it, but it isn't. You can get the same tobaccos in a slightly wider cut for a small fraction of the price. They're just called pipe tobaccos. It's the way to go since the tax bullshit was implemented.

As for the injector machines, it depends on what kind you buy. There are cheap, plastic injectors that are about $5. They'll probably just frustrate you, though. The one in my picture is $45-$50, but can be had for less if you shop around or buy used.

Once you buy the machine, you can have a premium smoke for a buck and some change per pack. It pays for itself very quickly.

I used to use Zen tobacco to roll my own with an injector but I've switched to ecigs now.

Bali Shag's quality over the past year or two turned to garbage. Any ryo veteran can tell you this. Shit's all dry and filled with shitty stems and whatnot.

Bugler is decent, cheaper and much easier to find.

Used to for about 20 years and it was usually drum. But once yer hooked, you'll smoke a bong made out of a 80 year old dead womans lung, just to get a hit. Ok I lie, it was a man's lung when I did it, but hey when you're desperate, you're desperate.

You've heard it all before but quit while you can. New Zealand has just banned tobacco from prisons and being the little social control group that we are that's something you might want to consider. Anyway, the tobacco companies are making billions of profit and your slow death is just a few pennies worth of that that profit to that fuckin evil empire. I know, I know I sound like some cunt who has never been hooked before but I'm not an anti-smoking nazi like most "ex" smokers and I know that you won't quit until you want to (that's the reality that all the non-smoking programs don't tell you about - you won't quit until you want to), but all I can say is if you want to stick it to evil corporations - quit now. Or grow your own - at least they don't get a shiny new ivory back scratcher form the tax and profit they make.

I almost only use it for joints though. But during festivals, I also carry a pack of papers

to roll the odd cig.
