i thought it was a good movie. i think nolan could've made it a looooot more psychedelic, but overall i thought it was great.

apparently nolan's directing an adaptation of this series next year:

if you haven't read this, it's one of warren ellis's best imo. personally though, i think zach snyder would be more suited to adapting gravel.

as far as implanting ideas in people's heads, advertising is essentially magick. product logos are basically sigils. i'm not saying that ad execs have crowley on the shelves in their offices, but it really is the same set of principles from what i understand.

Seriously? What if you're just a very skeptical person? I don't really believe in much, or just about anything, really. I don't believe in what's in front of me, not much at least. I mean, what, would the person talk to me and try to sneak in subtle clues, like they're trying to pick me up for a quick fuck? :lol:

I'm sorry, this just sounds ridiculous, but fill me in. The environmental fucking with that another poster mentioned can kind of work, but still, that's stalking and some people really don't just jump to conclusions about anything. :shrug:

maybe you're right. Manipulation can be super insidious or subtle too. Like in the movie, they can't just place the idea in the person's mind, they have to be able to make the person think that he or she came to the idea him or herself, which requires more tricky manipulating. That would be pretty fucked up though

Has anyone met anyone who seemed to manipulate people without realizing what they were doing? Have anyone ever done that themselves without realizing it? Emotional manipulation for example
