After all the hype about Interstellar, I was fairly disappointed. I thought it was going to be way above average, and it was kinda meh.

It didn't at all live up to the hype that everyone around me kept giving it, but it was a pretty nice movie in and of itself.

I just hate how he oveercomplicates the story so that someone has to stand around and describe everything that's going on...and even then it doesn't make any sense. Not to mention all the plot holes and the crappy endings that just feel like Nolan decides "it's time to end now" and you're left dissatsified not knowing what happened.

That movie was so fucking kludgy. The plot of the first part of the movie is just an excuse to put the main character in space.

I liked Interstellar. It was probably the lesser of Nolan's movies (still better than Dark Knight Rises, actually), but I enjoyed it, especially the visual aspects. Acting was real good too, but I do agree that the plot was a bit convoluted.
Psychonautica: what does Man Of Steel have to do with this? Nolan didnt direct it.

Yeah, I'm surprised of how highly rated it is in IMDb. 8.7 or so.
The movie's most well-done aspect for me was the emotional aspect. I give it points for doing a good job of running you through the water works a couple times. But the weak points are so weak.
*******spoiler******** healing,
The plot of the first part of the movie wasn't to give Cooper a reason to go to space, it was about giving him a reason to go into a black hole to use quantifiable love to make a gravitatational phone call from a bookshelf...in 3d, or something.
And the whole reason for that plot was so he could just happen to drift past some space rangers a hundred years later so he could say goodbye to Murphy(and not even ask about his son, old what's-his-name)....or something. Oh yeah, and baseball! And Anne Hathoway turns into the wife from Inception, as explained in a post-credit scene narrated by Leonardo DeCaprio.

Not at all. It was an excuse to get the big name actor in front of the green screen and show off the impressive computing power of their shitty movie machine.

i enjoyed it alot, and im not even a big fan of christopher nolan. the only other movies i liked from him was The Prestige and.... wait. thats about it. Interstellar was at least somewhat more coherent than Inception
like Senor_Doobie said, its an emotional movie imo. plus the visual effects were top notch. its a corney story, sure, but thats why its called science fiction

Birdman was fucking awesome. i mean holy shit. the cinematography was brilliant. there were very few edits or cuts. most of those scenes take over 8 minutes to shoot, and hundreds of takes
meanwhile, most blockbuster action movies have cuts/edits every 2-5 seconds. 15 seconds at most, but that is only someone talking.
yes. go watch your favorite action movie. the takes are only SECONDS long for the entire film. there is probably not one single 60-second cut.
that said, i can get why some people dont like it. its a little weird. and birdman was a logistical fucking nightmare. but it ended up a masterpiece that almost nothing can be compared to in terms of likeness. anyone who appreciates cinematography will love it

Again, I'm with Gresh; Birdman was amazing. It's a different kind of movie altogether, and I could see how someone doesn't like it, but those are probably the same people who think the Transformers movies are top-tier cinema.

It was as though Matt Damon showed up on set one day and said "Hey, aren't I in this movie?" and Nolan called the prooducer and found out that he was actually on the cast, so Nolan went and wrote a nonsense sequence for him that made no sense and just wedged it in there.
It's like when Nolan doesnt know where to take a story he cops out by just making a bunch of nonsense and then sits back knowing that no one will question his genius from fear of being perceived as stupid.
Nolan: "So the Matt Damon character wants to kill Cooper and sabotage the mission."
Someone Else: "Why?"
Nolan: "Exactly! That's life's quintessential question, is it not?"

but he was missing for a long time, and in theory went crazy, which makes sense, at least some sense. screwing the people who rescue him makes a little less, but he's crazy

they had 3 planets to choose from, one of them was water with a broken beacon or something, 2nd was the ice world with the crazy guy
Matt Damon!!!!
Yeah.. he went space insane!

Spoilers... Am I the only one who figured out the ending as soon as the "ghost" was mentioned? Also I knew instantly the guy was a bad guy when I saw the robot deactivated.

yeah way too long
i hate how movies these days try so fucking hard to hit every god damn demographic there is...like for some movies, like interstellar, its only about the money...they dont give a fuck about the integrity of the movie...at some point you gotta realize that not all people are gonna love every single movie and leave it at that, but nope, thats too hard for money grubbers
like it had potential to be a sweet sci fi movie and they made it some fucking lame ass drama about some dude and his kid, like sorry but i dont give a fuck about your stupid fucking relationship, im trying to get my space on
coulda been a good movie but ended up being a horrible piece of dogshit

Spoiler
Also, I enjoyed the water planet. I got to thinking about the concept. The earth's moon is a factor in our planets waves and tides. How would a giant black hole affect that? Probably huge ass waves...
