I don't get the excitement about people I have never met, who have no effect on my life and who live far away, doing something ordinary.

Can some non-UK member 'splain it to me?

non uk? i wish them luck and hope they have a splendid life. HOWEVER.....it pisses me right off that we, the british public, have to pay for a lavish wedding for one of the richest famillies in the country!! i dont pay my taxes for that...i couldnt afford a wedding like that for me, so why does my contrabution have to go to pay for them.

Do people really have so little of a life that they actually know who these names are?

Spoken like a true Brit. I doubt that interest will be anywhere near as high as the Chaz and Di wedding, and speaking for myself, the best thing to come of this wedding is an extra bank holiday. I certainly will not be watching or taking part in any of the celebrations.
