Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Samurai Champloo are my 3 favorites of all time... I hardly ever pick favorites. My favorites change daily, but with anime its always those three.

That anime is brilliant beyond compare. It is about a Japanese doctor in Germany who struggles to find his own values of human life when one day a little boy is brought in, shot in the head. However, the mayor of the town comes in much later, and the Hospital owner tells him to operate on the Mayor though his injuries are less severe and he came later so that the hospital will get more funding. The protagonist (Dr. Tenma) refuses, and operates on the boy instead thus saving his life but the mayor dies. In doing so his career is pretty fucked.

Oh yeah, and the little boy turns out to be a pathological completely fucking insane completely calculated serial killer when he grows up. Go figure. :prance:

I don't really know too much about the world of anime (although I do love it) so I hope I don't get blasted by all the hardcore fans. But there were a couple of series a friend let me borrow a long time ago and I thought they were hilarious: Excel Saga and Dominion Tank Police. I ended up buying most of the Excel Saga series. I like the comedies better. You also have to have a certain taste for that type of humor, I guess.
