How is my voice? (song I wrote)

Eh. I made this song for my ex. I cant believe I ever made something so lovey dovey, but I did. I never got to sing it to her but it was a pretty good piece of music I think.

Before I wrote this song for her I never did any singing. The quality is not terrible but you may hear a thumping sound every once in a while which was me tapping my foot. I didnt realize it had recorded that until it was too late!

Do I have a good voice!?? hhahahaha! I think I did okay for myself. Its nothing epic but considering it was my first song I think I hit the notes pretty well!

Comments good or bad are wanted! :smile:

I downloaded the song while reading the lyrics and couldn't help but to grin.

The Good:
I'm going to keep it on my Itunes, because I really did enjoy it. It was truthful, sad, and sweet. The vocal quality was poor, but thats due to microphones I would imagine. Your voice itself hit the notes quite well, and it was reminiscent of Raised By Swans at points.

The Bad:
Your voice is on the cusp of becoming either excellent or whiny. Focus on deepening the tone at points and you'll find the overall vocal quality will go up.

The Verdict:
You did a great job, I hope you continue to sing; and play. Like I said, you are hitting tones and notes that are very reminiscent of other very talented bands/vocal artists. I'd look up Raised By Swans and give them a listen. It was brave to put a piece of yourself out there to be stepped on, so my hat is off to you.

Its actually pretty inspirational hear that you liked it. It makes me want to start writing songs again. Maybe I will.

Sounds good man.  I'd be fun to do a session with you and get the quality up there.  You have talent and I think you would be awesome to record and produce an album with.  I we lived in the same areas It'd be fun to join up to both refine our skills and get your talent on disc sounding excellent.

Absolutely good sir!

Im not sure what notation it is or what a notation even is?? lol. You have to excuse me, I am self taught and I dont know much about guitar other than how to play it and tune it.

I will give you the root chords though (TABS)! Will that help?

Can you record your bass guitar over the track? That would be cool. I would love to hear that.

I will post the tab in a little bit. I have to have my guitar in hand to make sure I get it right.
