Humidity Teks for Terrarium

My cat will be casing some grains soon and would like to plan ahead on his fruiting stage.
The cat has an 10 gal aquarium w/lid, non-submersible fish heater, air pump, air tubing, and air stone. He pretty much got a basic fish setup for really cheap so he has all the same stuff you would use to set up a fish aquarium. Anywho...
Does anyone know of a way the cat can fashion something together using these items together to construct an adequate terrarium? The main thing he is worried about is will the fish heater provide enough heat? And.... How will he keep the humidity up?
On the humidity issue he has thought about the following... Airstone and heater in jar Anybody tried this or think it will work?
The cat appreciates any comments, ideas, or personal recommendations, I can relay back to him! Thanks!

Alright. Thanks robinhood2!
Does anyone else have any advice?
I have heard perlite is quite messy to work with and would like to try to avoid it if possible but I have also seen it used in jars or tubs and is easier to clean and change.

I have only been doing this a very little while and when testing the terrariums I have noticed mine stay at High humidity ALWAYS and a 75.4* using perlite. It hasn't been that messy for me. And it's really easy. If you have all the stuff you might as well use it though. The Bubbler in the jar thing seems to be easy enough. Just make sure everything is very clean and as sterile as possible.
But check the teks.

Cool, thanks Ali. Sounds good. Maybe perlite is the way to go? I suppose I will have to experiment around and find out. Any other suggestions?

One more thing from a somewhat newbie. The chinchilla said that he used perilite for a while but it seemed to stick to everything and was hard to clean out and reuse. Fed up, the chinchilla switched to the setup like the one in the thread linked above (see previous post) and now all is self-sufficient. Geolite or hydropellets or whatever they are called may be a bit more pricey, but the chiinchilla says they are worth it in the long run. Airstone, pump, pellets, rubbermaid, and tubing....works damn good for that lil varmint.

Yeah, that sounds like what I am leaning toward. Either two of those long airstones or one of those flexible curvy air curtains for aquariums under the Geolite.
Robinhood2: Where did you get your Geolite? About how much was it? Also... What do you use for a heating source for your terrarium... or do you just use ambient air temperature? Thanks again!
