Problem maintaining humidity in terrarium

This is my first attempt, and I'm having trouble maintaining humidity above 90% in the terrarium - any suggestions? It's 4 PF cakes on perlite which is already seemingly too wet just from spraying; i just moistened the perlite initially in a colander. Temp is around 72.....1 cake has produced 1 shroom, but i don't see anything else on them. This cake and another have been in there for 5 days, the others were dunked last night for 12 hours (i know these need some time). Am I just impatient, I thought I'd be seeing notable pinning by now beyond that one shroom.

Yes
If you have damp perlite in your fruiting chamber and the chamber is sealed then your humidity is ok. Perlite is fool proof.
All you need is regular fanning and patience.

soundslike my first efforts before I got my humidifier. I don't think it's humid enough.
Try piping in mist from a humidifier - got mine from US to UK by internet. Cost $80. Worth it.

Thanks, from what I'd read it would seem to me that a combination of perlite and spraying would produce more than ample humidity. I thought i might just be a little impatient (although the other response makes me wonder if getting a humidifier at some point wouldn't be a worthwhile investment).

What type of humidifier would you recommend, i.e., brand name so I can do a quick search for something ideal for our purposes.

Make sure you have 1 1/2 to 2 inches of perlite and only no more than 1/2 inch water, that leaves plenty of perlite surface exposed for moisture to evaporate. Do that and keep your temp straight and you won't need a humidifier.

I live in UK. I got mine on the internet at breathfree.com last summer, posted to me and costing $65 + some postage. I got the Vicks 5100, and adapted the outflow with candelwax (bluetac would work) and a plastic hose. I have to use a transformer, cos it has a US plug and uses 120V.
Mine is on a timer - the best I could find gives only 20 minute intervals, so to avoid all those drying stages in coke bottles, I just pipe it in for 20 mins 3 or four times a day. With a hole in the bottom of the terrarium ( a plastic storage box), the humidifier also causes air exchange at the same times, so I don't need to mist OR fan. Fully automatic -that's why I recommend it for low-humidity UK.

Mr Dog is correct. Perlite is foolproof for pf cakes.
When done correctly, of course
