Sprinkle a solid line of salt around the space you don't want ants in. They won't cross the salt line, so it keep em on the outside.
Then hunt down and kill every single ant on the inside of your magic salt circle.
If the colony lives and reproduces within your circle then this method obviously will fail. If you have a gap in your salt line they will find it.
I hear this works with diatomeceous earth also... not sure though
Also, as ants can climb on walls and salt will not sprinkle on walls, make sure your flow bench isn't leaning against a wall. The salt line goes on the floor between bench and wall... then you cross your fingers and hope the ants haven't got flying squirrel abilities.
This has worked for me before, but I wasn't trying to isolate a high-priority cultivation area. Maybe try it on a small test space first?
Good luck!

Clean all floors and corners and kitchen cabinets and edges. Wash, wash wash anywhere you see ants to reduce their scent trails.
Ants are serious business. They exist to eat the world.

Instant Grits will kill ants individually. They eat the grits and the moister inside the ants hydrates the grits and the ants will explode. The must be instant grits

.... lol, call an exterminator to properly identify what kind of ants you have and take care of them. If they are that much of a problem, you most likely have a nest in your house and should get it taken care of ...
