Any book collectors on Shroomery?
    #14052077 -

I have several thousand science fiction novels in paperback and hardcover ranging from the late 1930's until recently.  Some of the best ones I found in thrift shops and small paperback exchanges.  I like the art on the Ace and Ace Double Paperbacks from the 50's~70's.  Now, however, finding any good stuff except at a collector shop is getting rare, like finding a true silver quarter when you get change at the store.

I love the cover of 'The World Jones Made' damn, that is a chaotic world.

I'm probably gonna auction all my books off to dealers in a single lot this year, to get my 'Desert Plants' nursery business started.

I used to collect old hardbound occult books from the late 1800s to the 30s. I sold most of them off when I was desperate for money but i still have a few laying around.

i do rather enjoy picking up books that are antique, or out of print. i have my eye on

Claude Farrere’s 1929 novel Black Opium – ‘The Shocking Ecstasy of the Forbidden’. The book was originally published in French as Fumee d’Opium in 1904. it's based on his actual experiences in real Opium Dens. Black Opium was only Farrere’s second novel but he went on to write other sensationalist books including La Bataille, about a doomed lover affair between Mitsuoko,a mysterious Japanese woman, and an English army officer.

I had a huge collection of rare books on psychedelics and mushrooms, some of it really hard to find stuff, including a lot of pre-1996 LSD info (so it was from the era of pre-criminalization, so the information has a different "tone")

I carted those books around with me for 10 years, and believe me they were always a substantial part of the "move" when I moved from place to place.

But then I had a fire in my home last year and everything I had was lost - I'm still sad about some of the books, but another part of me has learned the lesson about material goods.

However I was super lucky that a signed copy of LSD My Problem Child (Signed by Hofmann and Stan Groff - Groff wrote the forward for this edition) was like my only book that survived...

I've got a bit of a collection of psychedelic literature. I'll post them later.
