Re: Alternative to washing jeans.... freezer? [Re: ifoundwaldo]

I thought it was bad that he said he wears the 3 times a week and doesn't wash them!

I'd think they'd be getting pretty damn funky if you wear them 3 times a week.

LOL ! This is as hilarious as it is pathetic...

Quote:
Typically, these jeans are NOT washed at all in the first 6 months to 1 year that they are owned.  This is because when washed, the indigo comes out relatively evenly and you lose part of the custom look.  IMO most people DO wash them, albeit infrequently.

I wash my jeans every two weeks sor so, and I sure didn't wait for several months to wash them the first time. Washing them doesn't prevent to achieve genuine wear & distress (although that is certainly not part of my life's priorities...), and if lots of indigo is lost with each washing, then it simply means that you've been ripped off and sold bad quality product for a few hundred bucks, happy ? And even so, no jeans are worth 300-400$, ever ! Makes me thinks about the 80s-early 90s, when old ripped & punctured jeans (in other word : rags) would sell for crazy prices, because of the holes and tearing ! And would the seller add that they were from London, oh boy, JACKPOT !

Another fine example of what kind of nonsense people are willing to hop on so they can feel better about them. I'm not bashing at you trb, but honestly, this is all BS, if someone puked on your jeans, then wash'em ! it's called COMMON SENSE !

Quote:
but the washing machine will also bleed the fuck out of these jeans and fuck with the shape they've been developing.

That's why it's good idea to wash them as soonas you get them, so they shrink what they have to shrink, then you work the shape without fearing a future washing would screw the said shape.

Irie !

it wasn't like full on lap vomit.  it was just a bit on the leg.  and obviously i didn't intend on vomiting at all, least of all on my pants.  but i went out drinking having only eaten a bit of bread all day long.  shit happens.  i still like the jeans, which is why i'm trying to find ways of fixing them without compromising quality.

I don't wear pants so I cannot feel your pain.
Please keep the music down and stop stealing my car though.

Yeah, but it's not really a fair comparison. Collaborating with the NWO is a dirty business, and quite distressing to your jeans from what I understand.

So is dry cleaning out of the question TRB? I don't know shit about high end jeans.

I sometimes forgo the visual inspection, but 2 days is my max. (Sometimes they look pretty bad on day #2.)

If I went by that rule, I would always wear the same pants. I never take the belt out until I have to.
