I wouldn't want to live forever really, I like life the way it is, precious and fragile with the constant threat of it being taken away in a blink of an eye.

You know how people might say 'Yeah, I'm taking a trip to Europe to see friends this summer' 100 years from now, people will be saying "I'm going to 'Andromeda' this weekend to meet some people".

Quoted. Will check back in future. You know the oil companies would never let that happen.

I can see why.... sorry, I have a hard time taking aging hippies seriously at all, especially when they talk about combating aging.

I feel like instead of minimum age to get into places, there's going to maximum ages to get it. They don't want a bunch of 90 year olds passing as high-schoolers and having sex with all the ladies. They are going to develop a way to tell true age. Maybe by cutting us open and counting our rings. It works like that right?
I'll actually read the article now.

Whoa, that article was really good. I can for sure see that happen. I for sure will not get computer implants. I'll move to the woods.

this reeks of kurzweil. not that i dislike him. i'd love to read his singularity book when i get through the 40 other books i have to read. but eh, kinda seems idealist to me. i think we'll definitely get past a lot of physical and social diseases (like cancer and money), and maybe even get into where we're sharing information on a brain to brain level, but i still don't think we'll live forever. longer definitely, but not forever.

I'd like to stay young for a while... hell you get out of high school and you're finally able to start living a life and you don't have money, you have to build a career, then you turn 21 and you're finally able to hit the juke joints, you get to enjoy being young and fit for a few years, and before you know it you're over 30 and your sexual potency starts to wane and you have another 10-20 years before you're 50 and wind up with prostate problems and shit then you're in a retirement home waiting to die.
I'd like to be able to be young and fit for a lot longer, like be physically 27 until I'm 100, then start to age normally until about 160, then die.

People are so quick to dismiss stuff like this but I think it's definitely possible within our lifetime. Maybe not total immortality but man has been living longer and longer with every passing year. Advances in technology and medicine happen at an extremely fast rate. Look at where we were 50 years ago compared to today!! Computers, the internet, cell phones...all of that was science fiction, but today it's normal. The life expectancy has increased by nearly 20 years in the past 50 years. Who knows what could happen 50 years from now.
