I don't think they mean that bullets will be unable to kill a man. If you take aging out of the equation, we'll hardly be mortal in the sense that we are now. It's only a matter of time before we reverse the process of aging by stopping free radicals from crashing into our DNA, or using nanotechnology to repair DNA artificially. For good or worse, it's coming, we'll both probably be alive to see it. Some of us may even reap some benefits from the technology before we die. What will most likely happen is we reverse the aging process but find obstacles along the way, like cancer.

How many people die from old age? We mostly die from self inflicted disease be it std's from being a slut to heart disease by stuffing shitty food down our throats. I hope they find a cure for starvation cause if we are all immortal and we keep having babies...

If suddenly we could were all "immortal" via machine or any other way, then would time cease to exist? or maybe we'd be more aware of the aging earth and the timeline that it runs on?
Kurzwell reminds me of Ra al Ghul from Batman.
Very interesting article... a lot of cool ideas running around in my head now. Thx.

There are immortal cars. They actually compared human life to cars in the article I believe... humans will be able to be repaired similar to how cars are restored... you will still be 90 years old, but you'll look brand new.
1926 Model T, restored.

Also, that car only looks new because it sits in a garage all day.

Yeah, and by the time we evolve to the point of being able to be immortal, we'll likely have mastered renewable food products in the capacity that could easily feed everyone... and as we further evolve, we'll likely have intergalactic space travel and being able to survive in a plethora of different atmospheres and non-earth-like conditions.
You know how people might say 'Yeah, I'm taking a trip to Europe to see friends this summer' 100 years from now, people will be saying "I'm going to 'Andromeda' this weekend to meet some people".
We will never run out of Universe and possibilities are only limited to our imagination.
