Do you guys think this will work well enough to eliminate perlite?

Just put a lil water & h2o2, says it works in as little as 2" of water

It says on the box "Increases air humidity level up to 100%"

This creates the same problem as will all foggers....it can over saturate the cakes or casings at times....at least that is my understanding....I know x bonerz x uses a mist/fog machine and has had nice results....just becareful with it....its defiently a good source of humidity...needs some slight maintence and some fanning is probably nessassary, but that timing feature and setting (low or high) seems like a nice plus....I might have to check one of these out after all....

actually, i have that same little unit and i love it. i do use it in conjunction with perlite & other humidification devices

I just looked up the Ultrasonic Foggers FAQ here at the shroomery and here is what I found:

Pros:
-  The misty cloud on the terrarium floor looks awesome!

Cons:
-  Expensive
-  Ultrasonic transducer is prone to failure
-  Creates a dense mist that quickly over saturates the casing (periodic operation).
-  Takes up lots of terrarium space
-  No gas exchange

dunno if that's a good thing, bad thing, or managable thing...I'd love to hear about people technique with these devices and any tips or comments as well :smile:

the actual unit is about the size of a half dollar so it doesnt take up a lot of space......

i use the same thing but with perlite as well, i found it used up water very quickly so i put about 3" of water in the bottom of my terrarium put the mist maker on the bottom in the middle cut the top and bottom off a beer can and put the can around the miist maker and put perlite in the terrarium around the beer can them put chicken wire over the perlite and it works fine

i only swich on the mist maker for 10 or 15 mins once or twice a day and i'v put a clear bit of plastic over the mist maker to stop water splashing every where apart from that the pic should show you every thing
