Any idea's?

I have uninstalled the drivers and re-installed them.

No damage has occurred to my computer.

What could it be?

Sometimes it helps to make a small script to rmmod the drivers and insmod them.

Or if you are on windows you could be pretty much screwed sans reinstall.  Just to test the hardware, boot into knoppix and see how that connects.

could be your browser is corrupted. Do you use Firefox or IE? Here is what you can check if you use IE: open the control panel, click on internet options, select the connections tab, go to the bottom and click on lan settins. on that property sheet, make sure  proxy server is unchecked and 'automatically detect settings' is checked.

Assuming you are using Windows, the following services must be started: workstation, DNS client, server, TCP/IP netbios helper, and computer browser. The list of services is found in administrative tools, in the control panel. hope this helps!

try to ping something outside your private network...

ping 4.2.2.2

if you can ping that and cant get to any site then its probably your DNS settings.

set 4.2.2.2 (that is a DNS server) for primary DNS and restart networking.
