Ancient Aliens is a good series on History. It's on right now until 7.

And Bored to Death is pretty funny and entertaining.

I just went through a straight marathon of the first two seasons of Heroes... really addictive for some reason.  Super powers + drama + a little humor makes for a good combination IMO.  And of course it has Hayden Panettiere:

Treme is a really great series about New Orleans culture

The Wire of course is a series about the heroin market in Baltimore and focuses on all aspects of it and the police

Sons of Anarchy is a series about an outlaw motorcycle club that runs guns

Breaking Bad is a highly acclaimed series about the meth business through the lens of a chemistry teacher with cancer who is trying to not burden his family with debt following his passing.

Weeds is a very popular show about cannabis

Dexter is really good; serial murder who kills murderers.

Parks and Recreation is a series that has a comedy style that I particularly enjoy but it's not a 5/5, more like a 3.8/5 or so.  Definitely worth watching.  Quincy Jones' daughter Rashida Jones is gorgeous imo and is such a cute "nice girl" type character, Aubrey Plaza does a great job of making apathetic faces and is a really cute member of the cast.  Chris Pratt is halarious as Andy; I really want to see him cast in another comedy movie or series.

There are lots of movies that I've seen recently but it'd be burdensome for me to write them all down right now.
